So I hope Brian still gets an award from Urban Culture Conference. After getting people to vote for the blog and then suddenly not have the big night happen was a little weird.

Today, my Visa was refunded for the conference passes and received an email:

Apparently they had not enough sponsors and/or interest to get this going. I say their marketing team and sales team just didn't know what their doing. They got the word out before the NHL playoffs started, which meant they had more than 5 months to get their shit together for the event. It's too bad, I was hoping to get to know the urban culture scene more in the city. I just hope all the award winners do get their awards from the conference despite it being cancelled.
