A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

So this is where you ended up!

I was dragged in by a few old friends.

Roasted a whole chicken on the grill tonight, loosely stuffed with onion, garlic and lemons, smothered above and below the skin with evo and fresh herbs. A dipping sauce of herbs, smoke paprika, diced onion, garlic and dill pickle stirred into some mayo and rice vinegar. Fantastic.

Washed down with Tree Hop Head.

They twisted your rubber arm hey?

& damn forgot you are the master chef/restaurant extraordinaire!, and now time to open up a can of mini ravioli.

@aaron, Nope never figured out who it was. grrr. jk time away - actually does heal wounds!

@bos haha agreed.

I noticed that it looks like she's holding up a sign when I downsized the pic and uploaded it as well.

It's actually just the wall behind her, pic taken with the iPhone.

She wouldn't stand still and cheer when I tried to take the pic, she always runs towards whoever is taking the pic because she wants to see how she looks. Unfortunately she has the patience of a 18 month old and will run towards you before you can get the damn thing focused and the picture actually taken.

See, I would have said something like, "My Daddy is the Greatest". But you're just so damn honest all the time.

On Deka Lake ........1/2 acre right across the street from the lake and the boat launch. We purchased two quads and an 18 foot 1996 Wellcraft. Topper, we paid 90 K for a serviced lot that's 150 feet from the boat launch. great view, and lots of shit for the kids to do. The cabin is a pile of shit but we can salvage the back half , but we have to cough up about 20 K to get the place looking good. At the end of the day we will be sitting on a 1/2 acre lot with a solid 940 sq foot cabin and toys for about 130 K.

Hey Blob I have a buddy who lives real close to you. He's down the road towards the highway about a 10-15 min walk from that boat launch. Big A-frame on the slope down to the creek on east side of the road. He won't mind me revealing his location (won't say his name) as CJ had his name and addy on the intwerbs for 15 years and nothing went wrong right?

In terms of Deka I like it there. I always refer to the Cariboo as the ugly stepchild of the BC holiday areas, but when it grows up she'll have a rocking body but a face that needs makeup every morning. Good value up there.

Rats your avatar made for a huge laugh at my place tonight. I was browsing the corner on the Ipad when my kid walks up and checks out what I'm doing. (three and a half years old, you should see him navigate an Ipad, Alphabet App, Angry Birds and Youtube... its amazing but that's another story)

He asked what's that going up and down and up on the horsey? At first I didn't know what he meant??? Then I realized he was talking about the dink on your avatar. I laughed and said ummmm its the horsey's leg. He paused and said.... but why does the horsey have too many legs? I guess he knows they're only suppose to have four legs!I LMAO, and couldn't offer much of an answer!

Kids...

Skyo.... what happened? Why did CJ ban you? You were just suddenly gone. You might be happy to know you had a positive rating of over two billion after you were gone...

Umm yeah it's actually quite scary.

Even the computer, my daughter knows how to get to nick jr. to play games and watch online episodes.

If she finds my iPhone or the iPad lying around she'll play games and/or take a bunch of photos mainly of herself (she figured out how to use the self facing camera and she stares at it taking literally hundreds of pictures.) I'll upload one, they're hilarious!

Seriously I just took the iPad from her to find a pic and gave her my phone and she told me the phone was too small, the iPad is better.

Mine touches my phone he gets a loud firm NO!, reach for it again, he gets his fingers smacked.

We don't child proof our house, we house train our kid.

He gets lots of attention from us, so he knows when he he pisses us off it is not good.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Topper, that's the best way to do it. I never really child proofed my place when Lil Blossom was a toddler, I taught her what was acceptable with me and what wasn't. It's amazing how well it's worked out. She's an amazing 14 year old young lady now. Glad I taught her about independence and fending for oneself. Seeing parents always throwing on the 'kid gloves' with their children, in my opinion, will only hinder them later on in life.
Didn't you know?I'm Front Page news! ;)

Well, we must have done something right bringing up our kids. The youngest is an Engineer and the oldest is a Paramedic.

I don't mind if our older daughter uses the commuter or iPhone, I've taught her how to take care of them both.

She knows to shut the computer off when she's done, and get mom or dad to log on if she'd like to use it.

She also plays the alphabet game, puzzles and other educational apps. Of course she likes angry birds and cake maker as well.

I have zero problem with her learning to operate those devises early, kids just will not learn the way we did. They will have tablets and laptops, learning from online tutorials and webinars. Hell university is completely different from when I began attending 14 years ago.

The girls know what they can and can't use, our older can play with the digital devices and the younger one is not allowed. She can only watch for now.
