R2G5 - Canucks host Nashville - 5pm - CBC, VS

Post by Cornuck »

We saw what happened last month when we only need one more game...

I think we'll see a desperate Nashville team tonight - and if they catch us off guard and get a goal or two early, this series continues.

Once again, we pray to the Hockey Gods that we have an injury free game.

GO CANUCKS GO!

I think we may see a desperate Canucks team too. They need to prove that they have that killer instinct and can end it quick. Rest against the next opponent is beneficial as well.

I'm calling for a 3-1 win.

Kesler, Salo and Burrows empty netter. Sedins 2 assists each.

It will be another close game against a desperate Nashville team. If we play like we did against Chicago in game 6 and lose, I am OK with that. If we take our foot off the gas pedal and play tentatively, I'm not OK with that.

No gimmes.

I don't think we need to raise our game, just maintain it. If Luongo doesn't let in a bad goal, we go have fun in that warm California sun... if he does? Well, overtime is always a crapshoot.

Excellent first period. Lotsa good hits. Beating Nashville to most of the pucks. Kesler is a BEAST.
Raymond, Higgins and Hansen are playing the way they can. Good to see.
Would be nice to get a 2 or 3 goal lead for once in this series.
Lou hasn't seen much rubber yet. Not the situation where he plays his best.
Looks like Samuelsson is out. Too bad but he was playing hurt anyway and not getting much ice.

Sammy has not looked good most shifts this entire series...or for most shifts for the last 20+ games.

Twins had some great shifts, don't know what you're talking about.
Luongo ... not a star..
Yeah, not great.

If he ain't playing hurt, then he's been dreadful. If he is playing hurt, well he probably shouldn't be playing.

Kesler is carrying this team. Without him we're no good.

Sedins have almost completely disapeared. They get one or two shifts per game, consistently get scored on, have nothing going but some attempts at cute passing. They've been terrible since Bolland came back. We're not getting out of the West unless they do a complete 180 in their play.

Twins had 4 lousy shifts and on those shifts the Predators put in 4 goals.. They don't backcheck.. Please watch the game more closely Toucan..

Yikes. Minus 3 and minus 4 for Henrik and Daniel. Today, Tiger looks correct on defensively poor. Weird. The twins were defensively sound long before they became offensive stars. What's up?

Damn. I hate this. Shots 34 - 23. Again... I hate Goalie-only teams.

Honestly, this team can't beat San Jose. I know I have us booked to win the Cup and I'm rooting every step of the way, but any objective reading looks that we're running out of gas. Don't know who is hurt and who isn't, although Hank and Sammy look it to me, and I could buy that Lou is dealing with his seemingly chronic groin problems again (as was rumored early in the Hawks series - not by me), but this team looks depleted. Kesler and Burrows are making up for their shitty playoff last year (where they got ripped to shreds here, only to find they were hurt after), but it doesn't look at all like an elite team. Looks more like the just good enough teams of a few years back.

I still think we're going to the conference finals, but can anyone give us a shot against the Sharks right here right now?
