GDT: Canucks @ Flames 7pm - Saturday

Post by Tciso »

Yes, I started this GDT a day early. I'd love to see a good 7-1 shelling of Calgary. Let Tambi and Hansen get their 10th each, and have the Canucks finish with a measly 19 losses on the season, and a +82 goal differential. Oh, and no injuries too.
The Cup is soooooo ours!!!!!!!

While we're dreaming ....
How about 5 or 6 points for Hank to put him ahead of Perry for the 1-2 in scoring?
It'd also be nice to see Schneider play well ... maybe a shutout and the Jennings trophy?
A strong return for Hamhuis and another good game for Edler would wrap it up nicely.

Honestly i don't care about any outcome of this game beside injuries.

The OOT scoreboard is more interesting with 4 possible opponents for the first round: LA, Anaheim, Chicago or Dallas.

Difficult to say but i think Anaheim would be the hardest...

Did we not have a stat padding blowout against the Flames last year at about this time? Anyway, just don't get hurt or lured into anything physical tonight.

Agree.. Anaheim is always a physically tough team and right now has the best 1st line in hockey.. hoping for Dallas or LA.. and hoping Chi town ends at 9th :)

Forwards: Sedins-Burrows. Higgins-Kesler-Samuelsson. Tambellini-Raymond-Hansen. Glass-Lapierre-Rome

Defencemen: Hamhuis-Bieksa. Edler-Ehrhoff. Ballard-Salo

Cory in goal.

I think Edler looks pretty good in his return so far. Erhoff is hopefully saving his "A" game for the playoffs, and Ballard? Well he's a good shot blocker, right?

Very solid on D. Played great on D all year even with all the injuries.

Worrisome to have only one-thirds of our third line going into the playoffs, but whatever. Against a team with a powerful 1st line can always throw Kesler's line against them or even go head to head with the Sedins+Burrows.

The third of the third line that made it potent is gone anyway. We have to work around it. Torres and Hansen isn't much good without the man in the middle anyway, and we have no replacement up the middle. That's scary.

Decent game tonight, no much in the first 2, but a good 3rd and OT to win it.

I thought we played a physical, yet restrained game - which we will need through the playoffs.

Kesler looks ok after giving everyone a scare.

Hansen won the unsung hero award for a good reason. He can play on my team in a third line role any day. He is very good and very consistent. (Not a goal scoring machine but he does a lot of things very well).

But you're right, the 3rd line isn't much of a shutdown line with Raymond in the middle. But maybe we will see how they do. Too soon to tell.

3rd line is a not the same style without Maholtra but could be ok with Hansen and Torres to do the " heavy lifting " and Raymond to give it speed..The problem I have been seeing since Mannie went down is the PK. a good faceoff man is irreplaceable on PK..

Hey, I'm a Hansen backer, but you know what my point was... without the guy in the middle, it's all secondary anyway.
