Not playing like it though. At times we are OK and at times we look brutal. Yes, missing Edler and Bieksa hurts, but there are more problems then that. This win one lose one isn't going to get us anywhere in the playoffs.

Having said that, we have 20 games to get our "A" game back.

Louie stole that one. We had no business coming out of that with two points.

But it's as simple of that, they're missing Edler. Okay Bieksa is a loss too, but Edler is the missing piece.

But honestly, do we expect them to dominate all year, this maybe a lull, but even then not a big one, and people are getting antsy. Jesus...

By missing parts of the D, we're also missing part of our transition game. This has to affect our offense. With all the D-men switching in an out, I'm not surprised that the team is playing .500 hockey.

I'm not worried at this point. The games have been close.

Keep in mind that the Blue Jackets are fighting for their playoff lives. They're 5 points out today, but maintain at least a game in hand on all the teams they're chasing. This is the time of year when there are no easy games. Teams at the bottom are playing for next year, teams in the middle are fighting for playoff positioning.

It's nice that the Canucks have built up such a cushion, I'm not so concerned about the Presidents trophy or even finishing first in the Conference. They have a 14 point lead over Calgary for the division. If the trends continue for both teams, the Canucks will finish with 107 points, and the Flames around 100.

I'm more concerned about home ice in the first round. Let the teams jockeying for 4th through 8 wear themselves out before even getting to the dance.

Dunno, this might be the year to be worried about home ice BEYOND the first round.
