Bang On!

On Sunday, my son and I drove trough the Sun Lakes, Dry Falls area of Washington near Grand Coulie. Dry Falls was formed near the end of the last Ice Age when a glacial lake, Lake Missoula in Montana, was held by an ice dam. The dam repeatedly burst sending incredible amounts of water rushing trough and shaping the geography of much of the Columbia basin. Dry Falls was a 3.5 mile wide, 400' high waterfall.

This is what it looks like now. Water exists only in what were the plunge pools at the base of the falls.

20,000 years ago water was running 65 miles an hour over those cliffs.

Being skeptical with the notion that humans are causing disastrous levels of “global warming” or “climate change” is like disagreeing with abortion. Society doesn’t like dissension. Follow the herd or be ostracized.

In this reference to higher CO2 levels, that's all fine and dandy -but he seems to be ignoring that humans want to live. And live near the water. As long as we don't care about the human race (and really, who does?), then we have nothing to worry about.

"Don't worry about the planet"
Best to just ignore it all, consider it business as usual and not make any preparations.

How long until I have oceanfront property? :D

Corn, that is the laughable part of the climate charge alarmists. They keep saying they are trying to save the planet.

The planet will carry on very well thank you and so will life on Earth.

Species die off.

When I lived in Vancouver I used to tell people that I'm not going to Disneyland, I'm waiting for it to come to me.

Only a geologist can have that kind of patience. :)

The human population has exploded since the little ice age.

Meaning we're a bunch of Jerks, in the evolutionary geologist vernacular.

Explains why the Creep died.

People will say, think anddo what ever benefits them the most. If you work at a job that pollutes the earth then you most likely think there is no climate change. If your a tree hugger or Weaver then everything hurts the earth.

You do what ever you have to do.

Not really appropriate for this thread but I would be just as concerned about how we, directly, no ifs and or buts,
pollute the atmosphere with our methods of communication.
It is having an effect on quite likely, the most influential species on the planet. The birds. Even the tiniest songbirds,
bushtits, even humming birds. Their migration pattern affects, in some way, every species.

And if that doesn't cut it, one decent solar flare and our system is gone and at least 3 billion of us too.
Have a nice day.

The larger point was that

... in the grand scheme of things...

the effect humans have-had/can-ever-have on global temperatures is insignificant.

The way I see it, the human need for self-righteousness is what is fueling the Climate Change Train.

(I'm referring to the "Let's Save the Planet" mentality of course)

I mean, let's face it, this has next-to-nothing to do with real science.

(these folks refuse to listen to the geologists, astronomers, etc)

But of course Climate Change devotees have convinced themselves they're Oh. So. Scientific.

Not unlike the way the Incans convinced themselves they were saving the planet with human sacrifice.

(they pointed to their higher math and the movement of celestial objects as evidence)

Now hey I'm all in favour of Freedom of Religion, I'm just saying...

It would be better for the mental health of these Climate Changers to self-identify as the cultists they are.
