Your chance at fame!

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Your chance at fame!

Post by Cornuck »

This is happening a town in our county. I don't know if this a great marketing idea or if it's setting things in motion for an epic fail.

Just imagine the fun you could have with this in small town america. :D

I hope this doesn't reflect the town's financial health.

Wonder if the local roads are being paved or if pavement is being replaced with gravel.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

Do they say what the parade is for? Pride, May Day, Homecoming, Santa Claus.....
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Deshler is actually doing ok. It has one of the largest pivot irrigation manufactures in it. But a lot of these small towns are shrinking as most the kids from each generation move out.

It's really just an odd way to advertise the fair I think.

It's good that things are OK.

Since honours like the "Parade Marshall" used to be handed out based upon politics, the people of Deshler have given us an example to follow.

Consider how the political process works now. When positions of power become available, they are typically filled by those with the greatest hunger for power, as opposed to the ones most capable of doing a good job.

Power hungry people might pay enough for position and title, to employ someone who can actually do a good job.
We just have to keep the politician out of the way, doing something harmless.

Hail the next political revolution. Pay for title politics! ....................Well, it's an appealing thought. :look:
