As an asside..................Since we bucked off the front of the place, due to rot we left the sonotubes in. I am planning to do an L shaped deck around the new entrance ( mud room). I need the existing sonotubes ground down to two feet high so I can avoid submitting a drawing and applying for a permit. What is the best tool to grind down cement?

How much are we talking about? A quarter inch? An inch? A foot?

If its under half an inch, I'd just get a cupped diamond disc for your orbital disc grinder. Other wise, if we're talking something a little more substantial, you might want to consider using a small breaker with a chisel and just chip it off. Then you can go back and clean it up with your grinder.

Did you use steel? If so, don't forget to pick up a zip cut.

I just finished another coat of mud in the ensuite...my w2b has never heard such language spew from my mouth.

I'm done for the night and recollecting my nerves with Cuervo.

4 - 6 inches BOS,...... thinking of paying some slug to chop that shit off as it seems like grunt work at best and ape work at worst. I'd likely go througha few blades(saw) or discs(grinder) trying to chunk that shit off, not to mention the beer I'd have to choke back.

Thinking about a couple new designs for the basement. Including no bedroom wall but a murphy bed and a bi-folding all glass wall!

I actually have some blueprints for a murphy bed I've been keen on building, even bought the hardware/springs. Main reason being they're way too fuckin' expensive to buy. If we can find somewhere to purchase the material (unless you want to use MDF) we can build it in your garage.

Bah, grab a six pack of Innis and Gunn, rent the smallest breaker you can get (with a chisel) and you can break that off in ten minutes (per tube). Yes, its grunt work, but its easy shit if you have the right tools and refreshments. Once its chipped off, you may need to cut off the excess rebar with a zip cut, but that take 30 seconds (literally), with your angle grinder.

Taped it, loaded it and tonight I just feathered on a wide coat.

Likely need one more for finish.

I'm game for building from blueprints. Were looking at something with shelving on either side possible with desk space as well to maximize the space available.

Yeah at least $4000 is what I've found online.

And it doesn't seem like a lot of wood that's used with complex joinery. Should just head back to sea-scum and ask Mr. Ng to grab some maple or oak, he used to love me!!
