Ahh Summer Nights

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

I once cooked a ham on fresh hay.

Made a good veggie stock, places a layer of hay in the bottom of the stockpot, added the ham, covered with veggie stock and another layer of hay, braised it then took it out to rest, Next day I glazed it and quickly roasted it.

Rats - where do you get your hay when you're down south? I'll bet it's expensive in Arizona.

Thats pretty reasonable. Protein is probably about 8%. What is the soil like? If its sandy that ends up in the hay and will evntually wear the teeth off the animals.

Down in Arizona, our subdivision is surrounded by cotton fields. The soil around there looks reddish in colour, but it seems to grow lots of cotton.
