The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Yeah I agree, Kamloops however has a special place in my heart (right next to cleaning up dog crap) given I have spent a lot of time there visiting.
I would consider the food not being terrible to be a big success.
Rics is one of the better places up there, and you're right, it sucks.
The alternatives include, Earls, Boston Pizza, and the Keg.
I've never minded Kamloops. The thing I like about the place is the industrial base, but more variety than PG or Billy's Puddle (funny, when I worked at Princeton, someone said that when Princeton grows up, it wants to be William's Lake). I fucking hate the strip mall town of Kelowna.
Yes the dining sucks in 'loops, but the town I live in has two pubs for your dining pleasure. I worked out of 'Loops in the early '80's, Tex/Mex at the Chile Chapter at the foot of the bridge over to N Kam, Minos for Greek food on Tranquille. We just ate where ever the waitresses were hottest.
Last year I was there for Stuper Bowl and a had great dinner at a tiny little Indian joint in a N Kam strip mall by a BCLB Store. I thought about going there, but I really did not want to drive anywhere.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Back in the day did you even notice when your hot waitress started clearing your plate of undercooked carrots while your fork and knife were still at the 4 and 8 o'clock position?
Speaking of Ric's Grill, I went into the one in Calgary a few months back and I was not impressed. My friend was really high on going to that place, but needless to say, I wish we went to Joey's in Eau Claire. It's a completely overpriced joint, which is probably why I avoid the one in Whistler like the plague.

Connie, is friend of friend, He's a regular there as he works around the corner from the restaurant. He and I went for an evening of damage a year and a half ago.
It is really a style of cooking and service I enjoy. We sat at the kitchen bar and chatted with the kitchen staff.
The Vancouver comparables would be Salt and Memphis Blues, but Char Cut takes the best of both and elevates them. they also have one hell of a beer and wine selection to pair with the meal.

Ok thank you for the tip. I'm definitely going to have to make it a dinner stop when I am in Calgary next month for work.
I LOVE Salt and Memphis Blues is pretty damn good as well.

Me neither. Not to highjack the thread but ouside of Kelowna or Victoria I'd take Kamloops over places like Nanaimo, Abottsford, Cambell River, PG etc... when comparing cities of similar size. Loops has some great golf courses that are half the price of some of the goat farms they call courses on the wet coast, and it doesn't piss down rain 250 days a year.
