Muzac For Munsters

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Buddy Guy at 85 can still put on a great show! He's a little slower than when I first saw him in 1995 at the Commodore, but he can still play, and unlike some of the other blues greats towards the end of their careers, he doesn't sit down for any of his show. His playing is a little slower than his heyday and he tells great stories - and is sharp enough to take down a heckler.

He still did his long solo while walking out in the crowd to the back bar.

Questions...

What river is that and what, was he like fishing or just like hanging out shaking hands?

Not my photo, but I have one similar. The place holds about 1000 (?), but if you're close enough, who cares. ;)

He was talking about how the British bands raised recognition of of the old blues guys, and some idiot yells out "Fuck the British ". So he basically replied with, "If it wasn't for the British, you wouldn't know you the fuck I was"
Then he asked they, "How old are you?" "44" - and old crowd crowd laughed, and Buddy just smiled and shook his head. :)

Great stories all night, a national treasure.

Saw Lang in the Experience Hendrix tour, and he was fucking amazing! Then saw him open for Buddy Guy, and hid a gospel set that wasn't very entertaining. :/

Next Friday is George Thorogood. :)

Ha...never seen that. Nice find.

The end result reminds me of a DOA Black Flag show at the Ukrainian Hall when I was a snot nosed young punk....

...sometime before '85 as I recall.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.
