Muzac For Munsters

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

The 70s were weird - how did things get so conservative afterwards...?

Everyone became so fixated on wealth and careers. Banging shaggy beave and smokin shitty weed was what people did... then the age of information comes along and you cant get away with fuck all.

It was a waaaay better time

They both blew Mick.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Yeah, video changed everything. Photogenic, poser musicians took over. The likes of ugly ducking talented musicians like Janis Joplin would have been thrown to the curb in the 80’s. It’s getting worse by the day. There is still good music being made today but you have to hunt for it, unless you’re happy listening to Myley Cyrus’s, Beyoncé, John Mayer crap. Spoon fed to ya, shoved in your face “this is what you have to buy into” it’s the same with the movie industry, the last great decade of cinema was the 70’s, it was pure and upfront like music back then. Now it’s pure bull, dictated by producers. Producers like Diddy and that brown guy who thinks he’s black - kahib whatever, they are the stars now cause they “produce” the shit. It’s all about the money!

My favourite albums of 2019 are from bands like Hiss Golden Messenger, Tyler Ramsey, Strand of Oaks. If you want truly good guitar playing check out William Tyler’s new instrumental album - Go West. Good new music didn’t stop, its just isn’t what people want anymore.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

Well. guess the long run for Metallica is done. World tour canceled, Hetfield back in rehab for booze.

Stayed pretty sober for a long time.
Back in late 1994 I was doing a bunch of air to air photography at Page/Lake Powell, Arizona, during their air-show.
They had the Snowbirds there and they wanted shots too along with a whack of others.
Metallica just happened to be passing thru for a video they were making and stopped over on the saturday.
One of the guys I used as a photo platform airplane was named Eric Newman. He had a vintage red Stearman bi-plane,
over powered of course, that he did a show with. He said he had something big coming up and could I get some air to air
shots of his plane, of course I said sure. Was a great Saturday, I did 11 photo shoots.
Turns out the big thing was Independence Day. The plane that Drunken Randy Q. was made to look like he was flying in.

That night we were at a local bar drinking vodka and diet 7-ups>>doubles! This big dude walks in and asks if he could join us.
I wasn't sure at first but it was james Hetfield. Metallica was shooting a video thru Arizona / fluke.
The three of us sat there til 2;30 in the morning. James just popped up and said "gotta go, see ya"
Randy and I, could barely stand. The next day was most unpleasant.

Japanese version of hard rock, if they spoke English they would be huge, IMHO.

Listen to it at least half way before you turn it off.

Better version, the guy in the red is imposed on the video as he passed away before this was made.

Anytime I want my wife to go all rock and roll on me I play this, she becomes a head banger.
