Will BC Place get a Retractable Roof for 2010?

The primary goal of this site is to provide mature, meaningful discussion about the Vancouver Canucks. However, we all need a break some time so this forum is basically for anything off-topic, off the wall, or to just get something off your chest! This forum is named after poster Creeper, who passed away in July of 2011 and was a long time member of the Canucks message board community.

Will BC Place get a Retractable Roof for 2010?

Will beautiful BC Place get a Retractable Roof for the 2010 Olympics?

How will this affect the BC Lions? It is my understanding a simple replacement of the current teflon dome could be done in 5 months as that's how long it took to install the original roof in 1982.

Retractable Roof: closure of the Stadium for at least one year, mabey more

Can't be done it time?

enter into this equation the following:

"The Significant Projects Streamlining Act",

an Act passed by the Liberals a few years ago

will that effectively kill the waterfront stadium?

Im all for it in anyway. I am one of those twits that hates BC place for having a roof. its a total pit as it is now. good seats to watch but all I smell is monster truck and bad cologne........

$ 50 million doesn't sound like enough for renovations

are they replacing the seats too?

As far as I heard it was not going to be ready in time for the Olympics. Lame but true.
It better not kill the Waterfront Stadium, that would have been sweet and have been a great alternative venue for the Olympics.

I doubt they will even have the highway to Whistler completed for the 2010 Olympics.

Unless its raining, it would be a spectacular addition to the opening and closing ceremonies.
As it is, BC Place is sterile and that big marshmallow is just gonna love the open flame.

Even if it snowed, it would be way better to have an open roof like they do at most stadiums.
