Whitecaps Stadium; where do things stand now?

Where do things stand with the Whitecaps Stadium? I hear now they're looking at the Helipad as a location.

Can they build a 60,000 seat retractable roof stadium at the Helipad location for the Lions and Whitecaps?

but then it's surprising we're not building a whole new stadium for the 2010 olympics.

They could play in BC Place,but why on earth would they want to?

It's way too big, a problem the Lions have been living with for some time now.

Now that the lions are getting bigger crowds its not quite as bad but it still is oversized for the CFL.

As for the new Whitecaps stadium, I suspect the City of Vancouver will drop the ball on this godsend. A rich owner who wants to foot %100 of the buildings construction.why isn't this being fast-tracked? Instead the city chooses to drag it's feet doing "impact studies" on how the new stadium would affect the crack-heads and grain-fed rats currently inhabiting the area.

If Kerfoot hasn't already backed off it will be just a matter of time after the needless and endless frustration city hall has/will cause him.
