Luongo's devastating playoff meltdowns in 2011, however, are still fresh in the minds of hockey fans everywhere.

Those who choose to forget his shutouts & triumphs. If Van had won game 7 the consensus was he would have had the Conn Smythe.
Why am I getting serious responses?

Should Carey Price be eligible for a Canadian Passport or as a proud Canadian does he use his status card for cheap smokes and gas.

puckdaddy:
Give the assist on Thoreson's goal to Carey Price, who mishandled the puck behind the net and gave it away to the Norwegian attacker. Canada survived, obviously, but with Price battling Roberto Luongo for the starting job coming out of the round robin, the error may have opened the door for Luongo to put in a flawless performance in the second game and steal the starting job for the second straight Olympics.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

I would say prevent the starting job from being stolen is more accurate.

Its Finland Norway and Austria. Who cares. Wow, a miss communication with a defender in the first game. Folks are really sucking on their straws to create news.

Why wouldn't he?
U know how it is, multi-millionaire athletes who have big egos and feels snubbed, then they have bad attitudes that can hurt the team. Granted, Lou has a great track record. He was quite professional with the Schneids taking the #1 job last year, he handled the trade deadline well and even when Schneids got traded when he expected it would of been him.

Grabner on (among other things) Luongo:
After facing Finland, it won’t get any easier. Canada looms next, and that’ll be a chance for Grabner to go head-to-head with his NHL teammate John Tavares. The 23-year-old New York Islanders captain currently ranks third in league scoring with 66 points.

“We talked about it the last couple of weeks,” Grabner said. “He’s one of the best players in the world. It’s going to be fun to be on the other side against him. I know how hard he works, how much effort he puts into his game.”

Even though Grabner only played 20 games for the Canucks in 2009/2010, he did get a feel for star goalie Roberto Luongo, who will start for Canada against Austria.

“I know him pretty well from practices,” said Grabner. “He’s a great goalie. He’s big. We’ve just got to get some pucks to the net and traffic and not make it easy on him.”

Grabner scored three goals on Tukkaa Rask, who let in four goals on 20 shots!
Who saw that coming?

The Finns won 8-4 though. Shots 52-20.

I think Luongo has already had to make a better save in the first 10 minutes than Price did in his entire game.

Amazing how much better Luongo looks when his team scores 6.

So Lou pitches a shutout. I guess he gets the start against Finland...

with the Eastern vultures circling waiting and praying for him to let in a goal.

Differences in opinion between CBC commentators were interesting, during the game against Austria.

In the second period, Healy said the Norway game was a tougher test, since there was only one NHL player on the Austrian team.

In the third period, Hughson said there were three NHL forwards on the Austrian team, & noted how solid Luongo was in the game.
