Wow, the local NBC station is still showing their repeating weather info and NOT the game. I'm stuck watching on NBC's low-def, buffering app.

Bäckström in bed with a fever. :(

Of the four centres originally announced for the team, we now only have Krüger left. :|

I thought Sweden dominated the first period up until the Canadian goal.
After that Canada looked better. Let's see if we can take advantage of the power play and tie the score.

Does Sweden has the horses to come back?

Total Canadian domination in the second period, but Lundqvist is still keeping us in the game.

Not much to say. Canada was the better team.

Sweden played well for the first fifteen minutes, but got deflated by the Canadian goal.
They still kept playing, but Canada has had the best defence of any team in this tournament, and once they had a lead to defend, they weren't giving Sweden an inch.

Congratulations. :(

Cheers boys.

I've known some of you for well north of 10 years, and so I'm especially glad to be posting on here.

I'll go on record as saying that this version of Team Canada was the greatest hockey team ever assembled in hockey history.

I've never seen a team be THAT effective in terms of commitment to Team defense and positional play.

Just an unreal non-flashy business like performances throughout.

Canada was dominate midway through the 2nd, Sweden did not have the horses to run with them.

Not sure if it was the score but the Canada/USA game seemed more intense than this game.

Seems really weird. Supposedly he has used the same allergy medication for seven years...!
Was it just recently banned? Are there two versions with different content?
Regardless, the team doctors should be on top of this, and players at this level need to know which substances they are/are not allowed to take.

This definitely helped ruin our chances. I mean, the team still put in a half decent effort, but we don't really have the depth to afford to lose our three best centres. We can compete with Canada when it comes to top end talent, but not when it comes to depth.

Still. I doubt just adding Bäckström would have helped put us over the top. Canada played a terrific game. Sure, Nyqvist hit the inside of the post early on, and a goal at that point would have led to a different game, but Canada hit the post two or three times as well, so we can't even blame the puck for not bouncing our way...

Canada played near perfect defence and had forwards that could convert three mistakes by Sweden into goals.

Sedin sucks! ;)

Canada was dominate in controlling the puck at both ends for the whole tournament. This was never about scoring the most goals, it was about a complete 60 minute hockey game. Hats of to the egos in that room, the coach and the management for putting a team together that was one for the ages.

There is no doubt who the greatest hockey nation in the world is! :towel: :towel: :towel:
