Wow - that was pretty much the best effort/game I've watched this season!

What I liked:
- Lapierre's speed and effective hitting
- some Kassian with the Sedins
- Speed and chances off the rush from Higgins-Roy-Kesler
- Sedinery
- Corrado not looking out of place in the NHL
- Alberts not looking like a pylon

What I didn't like:
- Raymond and Burrows with breakout passes right to Chicago
- 4th line still doesn't accomplish much in the way of puckpossession or forecheck pressure

The Canucks sure raise the bar when they play Chicago!!!

Quick look at the Canucks defence looking past this season:

Signed:
Bieksa (R) (31) signed until 2016 (UFA)
Ballard (L) (30) signed until 2015 (UFA)
Hamhuis (L) (30) signed until 2016 (UFA)
Garrison (L) (28) signed until 2018 (UFA)
Edler (L) (27) signed until 2019 (UFA)
Andersson (L) (22) signed until 2014 (RFA)
Polasek (L) (21) signed until 2014 (RFA)
Corrado (R) (20) signed until 2015 (RFA)
McEneny (L) (18) signed until 2015 (RFA)

UFA:
Vandermeer (L) (33)
Alberts (L) (31)
Barker (L) (27)
Joslin (L) (26)
Mullen (R) (26)

RFA:
Tanev (R) (23)
Sauve (L) (23)

Drafted:
Tommernes (L) (22)
Price (R) (22)
McNally (L) (21)
Hutton (L) (20)

Clearly they'll sign Tanev this summer - but I'm not so sure about Sauve with Tommernes and Price's rights coming up. I think Price is returning to Colgate to complete his degree, so I'm not sure what the Canucks will do there.

As for the UFA defencemen, you've got to think they will try to re-sign Alberts, and perhaps Mullen if he is recovered from his injury. Not a lot of room on the blueline unless they trade or buy out Ballard.

Haha what a puke. They are NOT used to getting their asses handed to them like that.

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let us play them in the playoffs

Here is his comments:
Chicago Blackhawks veteran defenceman Duncan Keith is taking some heat over comments made to a reporter following Monday's 3-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

In the post-game interview, Team 1040 reporter Karen Thomson asked Keith if a penalty went uncalled on a two-handed slash he gave to the back of Daniel Sedin on the Canucks' third goal of the contest.

"Oh, no. I don't think there was," Keith said when asked if a penalty went undetected. "I think he scored a nice goal, and that's what the ref saw. Maybe we should get you as a ref maybe, hey?"

Thomson responded with "Yeah, maybe. Can't skate though," to which Keith said, "First female referee - You can't probably play either, right? But you're thinking the game, like you know it? See ya."

The incident shows very poor reporting skills.

Ask a player after a humiliating loss where he was made the goat if he should have received a penalty and expect a polite reply of contrition?

You silly bunt.

Reporters feed on this kind of shit...so in her eyes and likely the eyes of her peers it was mission accomplished.

She got a rise and now she's well positioned to man the frontline next game against them

Exactly why we as consumers of the news need to see through the bullshit and call out the hacks. I have not seen Thompson raise her gender as an issue, but the rest of the media certainly is.

In the media world, any press is good press...who here has ever heard of her before today? I certainly haven't but then again I don't bother listening to the radio.
