A time of redemption. W all remember the last time we met and the after game apology Luongo gave for letting in so many goals.

A team we love to beat ready for the picking and we have our secret weapon tonight. The Millionaires return to the NHL with their HNIC debut. For shits and giggles, just follow along at hillbilly central as they make fun of us for "buying" an old team name so we could put claim to a Stanley Cup.

Who starts? Cory spent a lot of money getting his new mask painted for this one. Will that garner him a start? Luongo has won two straight. Will that be enough for AV to let him run with it? Of course Luongo let in a ton last time we met. Will that be enough for AV to say no thanks? Out with the old millionaire and in with the new.

I'm 1-1 when I start these things this season so your guess is as good as mine as to which team will show up and for how many minutes.

Luongo is in (per the Sun).

Ballard seems to suit the opposition better than Alberts but...who knows what evil lurks in the heart of AV.

Fuck them cow patty smokin returds, but a Stanley cup?
That's exactly what every team endeavours to do each and every year..

Wonder if they will hang a 1915 banner in the rafters?

Does Ottawa have theirs when they beat us in 1921?

Never heard anyone from the Canucks organization say the franchise has a cup. For that matter I never hear Canuck fans say it either, unless provoked to death with the "ya well talk to me when you win a cup" mentality.

If franchises like the original six still stake claim to when teams won the cup back in the Millionaires day then we should too, no? I mean the Canucks have never won a cup but the City of Vancouver has in fact got one, long before Cowpuke got theirs.

The Oilers were allowed to join the NHL from the WHA with Wayne Gretzky and still stunk so bad that over the next three years they were low enough to draft Mark Messier, Glenn Anderson, Jari Kurri, Paul Coffey, Kevin Lowe, Grant Fuhr and Andy Moog. If they couldn't win with that HOF line up they really would be the city of losers.

Calgary started off with a great team when the franchise moved from Atlanta. They had Kent Nilsson, Guy Chouinard, Bob McMillan, Eric Vail, Paul Reinhart, Phil Russel, Gary Unger, Don Lever, Darcy Rota and Paul Henderson. Not a bad starting roster. So really it wasn't Calgary that won anything. It was the boys from Atlanta that set the franchise up for a cup.

Think about it have Edmonton or Calgary done anything since those early teams?
