Unless there is a complete turn around in the second period this game is already over.

The Canucks aren't hitting worth shit. Playing soft hockey and not entering the zone with any kind of jump.

The first two penalties were legitimate. The delayed call when Datsuyk went to the net was bullshit. Nobody touched him until he dove over Luongo in the crease.

I see re-alignment will move these guys to the east. What a shame. Couldn't we give them Nashville instead?

Burrows had already established his position, so I think that was a legitimate pick.

Ant then it was the Christopher Higgins show, cycling to himself along the boards. And watch who skates between the net and defender allowing Higgins a clear shot at a wrap around. None other than that pick throwing diver Alex Burrows, he has thrown a couple of good picks tonight. I am shocked they haven't been called. Has he mastered a new move? He really has learned from the twins.

Watching the Detroit feed...

On the Kassian penalty: "We'll take it, that's for sure. I can see why he's complaining."

Garbage reffing in this one.

Good thing the officials at least protect 29/30 teams goalies.

I would have been fine with Kassian feeding Tootoo a few while he was down.

It was a penalty, just not goaltending interference, his stick came up and clipped the defender.

I've never seen Tootoo turtle before. Was he just being smart?

Weise gets 2 for hitting, PPs are 4-0 now.

These refs are just bad.

On a related note, I was at the Flames-Wild game last night, and when I wasn't contemplating gouging my eyes out because of the awful hockey on display, I noticed how bad the reffing was in that one, too.

Edit:

Again the Detroit announcers: "...that looked like a shoulder." Brutal.

The officiating is horrible.

Kassian's stick came up because the defender lifted it. Bullshit call.

Loved Kassian's response to the hit by Tootoo on Tanev.

Canucks are still playing soft and not really earning any PPs. Getting handed our lunch by a team in the back end of two in two is embarrassing when it is because we are being out worked.

Schroeder having a game to forget.

By soft I just mean not getting in on the forecheck or playing a physical game down low. Weak.

Shouldn't complain though. Our PP usually kills is anyhow.
