GDT: Feb 12 - Canucks vs Wild 7:00PM TSN

Post by Meds »

The Wild gave Flames fans something to cheer about the other night.....a single point in the standings.

Here's hoping we don't do the same for the Wild.

I expect a bunch of media to-do this evening surrounding the new 10 year deal that SNet just signed with the Canucks.

Go team.

according to my flame friend ..last nights game was a boring display of ineptitude and defence...

we shall not be subject to this....canucks win 5-2..after a 3 goal lead we shut it down to a tad boring

Minnesota has played 5 games in February, scoring 1,1,1,2,1 goals in those games.

So, they are either due, or they suck.

I think I heard that they turned over 40% of their roster this past off season. That has to be a huge factor in their slow start. I think this line up will get better as time goes by but in the short term they look a little discombobulated.

As an aside...what's up with Shea Weber? He of the 1 assist in 12 games...

Well, Minnesota started 4-2-1, so they actually had a strong start. But, it appears as the sample size grows, the true colours begin to show.

I was thinking along the lines of after 25 games or so they might begin to play more as a team. 11 games isn't much of a measuring stick, let alone 7.
What I see is Parise trying to do it all himself which probably has something to do with the 100 million dollar price tag as much as anything. Throw in Heatley doing his usual floating carcass routine and it's 6 goals in 5 games for ya.
Suter was never worth that kind of money as far as I can see. He's a really good player but 100 mill???

By the end of last year, Minnesota was the worst team in the league. To the roster that ended the year, they added Parise and Granlund to their top 9 and Suter and Brodin to their top 4.

Granlund and Brodin are too young to make a difference. I question why Minnesota would burn a year of their ELC on a 48 game season that management had to know would not lead anywhere. Looks like they may do it with Coyle as well.

Parise and Suter are good additions and will help over the course of a season, but not good enough to take a 30th place team into the top 15.

It looks like Minnesota improved from a last place team to a team in the 25th place range.

On par for their team's individual production really.....but it is low for him. Based on past seasons and the current team play I would expect him to be closer to 2G and 2A.....so he could turn it around with one big game I suppose. :P

Gotta wonder what's up with Manny.

Here's a rumour I just started.

They asked him if he would waive cuz a team wants him included in a Luongo trade

.... now he's upset and thinking about calling it quits.

KIDDING!
