The last game brought to mind the lyrics of a little pre-game ritual the All-Blacks employ. Maybe fodder for the playoff poetry thread, but I would kill to see a Canuck Haka:

Leader:

Ka mate, ka mate - 'I die, I die,'

Team:

Ka ora' Ka ora' - 'I live, 'I live, 'I live,'

Leader:

Ka mate, ka mate - 'I die, 'I die, 'I die,'

Team:

Ka ora Ka ora - 'I live, 'I live, 'I live,'

All:

Tēnei te tangata pūhuruhuru - 'This is the winning man (point to Schneider, Dank, applicable star)'

Nāna i tiki mai whakawhiti te rā - '...Who caused the sun to shine again for me'

A Upane! Ka Upane! - 'Up the ladder, Up the ladder'

Upane Kaupane - 'Up to the top'

Whiti te rā,! - The sun shines!

Hī! - Rise!

It's life or death. Schneids will be the winning man today. One more rung on the ladder to the top.

One prediction - The mouthketeers will score tonight.

Let's hope this next powerplay generates a few more chances for the Canucks. A real great opportunity after killing off a couple of soft calls to start the game. The powerplay needs to get going though to get the early lead.

Hahah no kidding! Canucks score one in the next couple of minutes to take a 2-0 lead into the second. I'm thinking a Sedin or Ballard - he's due.

Well didn't predict that but good on Cory for sticking with it. Thought he would run out of time but it would have been close. In any event, that's a huge save regardless of whether it would have counted. Great first overall minus Edler (*sigh*). Take away his mental lapses which led to sustained pressure in the Canucks zone and it would have been an extremely dominant period for the Canucks. Could easily be 2-0 but with no margin for error, the boys just need to stick to the plan and keep up the pressure.

Nice avatar.

God I love how we always manage to take a shot at Luo

Frankly I don't care who's playing as long as he's playing up to his potential and right now that goalie is Schneider. It was a great team effort though killing off those penalties. The Canucks were clogging the shooting lanes and blocking shots with a passion. That to me has been the big difference from games 1 and 2 where they hung Luo out to dry. But they need to keep this up because LA will pounce on any opportunity they get.

Is there a Dustin Brown hit that doesn't involve a charge or an elbow?

Dank needs to bury those ones.

Ridiculous. Really should have been a 5 on 3. Kings got away with one if not two during that penalty kill. Despite not scoring, that was probably the best looking powerplay thus far.

Another huge on coming up considering how well the Kings were playing prior to the penalties. Strike while the iron is hot Canucks!

Dustin Brown can pretty much do whatever wants. Nice slash.

The boarding on Higgins seems pretty easy to call too.

LOL!

Well good to see there are others balancing posting and watching the game. It's 3:19 am over here. Good thing I don't have to work tomorrow... oh wait!

Daniel is absolutely flying tonight.

Wow.

Reminds me of a young Guy Lafleur. :D
