They play like somnambulists for several weeks even though they win most of the time, then along come a couple of senior AHL squads and they wake up and look like world beaters then they fall back into their comatose state as soon as a team capable of playing them hard shows up.
Which is the reverse of what we got used to over the past several years. They'd play good teams hard, win or lose, then fall apart against the also rans.
You think they've got a switch? I don't. I think they're in grave danger of falling into a pattern they won't be able to break out of when they need to in just over a month.
And with a bit of luck I could be 6 foot 3.
Like I said, they cannot win them all. They outchanced the Preds in the first period but could not score. If the Canucks scored first, the Preds would have to open up the game. Unfortunately, the Preds scored first and they just tightened up their defense. To me, the games against the Leafs and the Oilers mean nothing because they are bottom feeders. I like the efforts they displayed last night. In a seven game series, I am sure they could "expose" Rinne and their defense; however, it would be a tight series because of the Preds' playing style.
