GDT: Vancouver vs Minnesota - 19:00 PST (SNET-P)

Post by Meds »

WILD (21-13-6) at CANUCKS (24-13-3)

Last 10: Minnesota 1-6-3; Vancouver 6-3-1.

Season Series: Wednesday's clash at Rogers Arena marks the fourth of six meetings between these division rivals. Vancouver has taken two of the first three head-to-head matchups this season with Minnesota. Their last meeting also came in Western Canada, as Roberto Luongo stopped all 33 shots to help the Canucks blank the Wild, 4-0, on Dec. 19.

Big Story: The top two teams in the Northwest division square off as the Wild look to even the season series with the Canucks. Vancouver, which holds a three-point lead on Minnesota for the division lead with the same number of games played (40), is fresh off a 3-2 shootout loss to the San Jose Sharks on Monday. The Wild, meanwhile, dropped their final game of the calendar year in a 4-2 home loss Saturday at the hands of the Phoenix Coyotes.

A chance to move 5 points ahead of Minnesota and take a firmer hold on the division lead. The Canucks haven't suffered consecutive losses in regulation time since early November when they dropped back-to-back road games to Minnesota (Nov 3rd) and St. Louis (Nov 4th). With the talent in that room, whether or not the Canucks win or lose is totally up to them. We've all seen it, they suddenly decide that they are going to play hockey and the opposing team doesn't know what just hit them. The Sedins were held off the scoresheet last game, look for them to bounce back and put up some numbers. Weiss has been moved up to the 3rd line to play with Hansen and Hodgson. I'd rather see Lapierre get that nod, he has more hockey sense and is a faster skater.

My GDT record is an abysmal 0-2-1 this year, this is a good night for it to turn around.

Still???

Man.. you're missing out on scoring masterpiece being painted by the SSB line.

Hank passing is otherworldly and Luo has been extremely sharp.

Aside from a one very bad shift by the Sedins, the Canucks are all over the Wild. I've barely heard Koivu or Heatley's name being mentioned. Brodziak's been playing pretty hard and that pretty much it.

The Wild D can not get the puck up to their forwards. Three tries and three fails.

Edler's having a really tough night. Just not handling the puck very cleanly.
