Mancari called up - he's rolling at almost a point a game in the AHL. I hope he makes the best of this opportunity. Last time I saw him I thought he was large, soft, and slow. It'll be interesting to see if they slot him in on the third or fourth line.
Edit: Daniel has a sore back - clusterfuck lineup....
Raymond - Henrik - Burrows
Higgins - Kelser - Hansen
Mancari - Hodgson - Weise
Rome - Malhotra - Lapierre
Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Salo
Alberts - Ballard
Schneider

I called my friend in Raleigh today and apologized in advance for tonight's game... poor bastard.
My only consolation to him was that we have an extended history of falling to teams that we take lightly. This could be one of those nights.
The Canes are missing Skinner and Pitkanen with concussions.
GO CANUCKS GO!

The Vancouver Canucks have announced right winger Mark Mancari has been recalled from the Chicago Wolves on an emergency basis.
For an emergency recall to occur a team has to have less than 12 healthy forwards, six defencemen, and two goaltenders. The Canucks may have suffered an injury at the morning skate as the Canucks were planning to dress defenceman Aaron Rome at left wing for a second consecutive game for cap reasons, according to general manager Mike Gillis.
“It’s temporary. Andrew Ebbett’s coming back and we’ve got some other issues, we want to try to stay ahead of the trade deadline as far as cap planning. There are times in the course of a year when it’s better for you to have fewer players and maintain and create cap space as best you can. Obviously it’s not an ideal situation, but it’s not long-term.”
Mancari, 26, struggled in the preseason as head coach Alain Vigneault questioned whether his skating ability is up to NHL standards and was upset by his soft play.
“We’re not sure yet (about Mancari),” Vigneault said. “He has the size, but his skating has always been a bit of an issue.
“He needs to use that size on a regular basis. We’ll see if he can skate at the NHL level.”
Waived and demoted to the minors at the beginning of the season, Mancari has been a standout players with the Wolves racking up ten goals and 21 points in 24 games. He is currently in the midst of a six-game point streak picking up six goals and ten points.
It will be interesting where Mancari slots in into the lineup, but where ever he plays, he just needs to play big, provide some solid board work and unleash that 102.8 mph slapshot when possible with some solid hits sprinkled in.
cheers

Apparently Mancari had to drive 3.5 hours from Charlotte to Raleigh...
Can't say I recall Mancari from training camp. The Mancari-Hodgson-Weise line is going to be...uh interesting, I guess?

Big guy with a very hard shot. Not a great skater and doesn't not utilize his size in any way.herb wrote:Apparently Mancari had to drive 3.5 hours from Charlotte to Raleigh...

I gave up on recording games earlier this season after I went 0-5 on recorded away games. Haven't recorded a game since and they've been good on the road. I'll take the credit, thak you very much.Corb wrote:I have a feeling this one may not be worth recording.................

Well for those in the "let's get Bryan Allen" camp... he just pumped the piss out of Aaron Rome.
I hope the Canucks stay away from these line-scum/brawl scenario's. On one hand, good on the boys for sticking up for each other and proving they aren't going to back down... on the other hand we're probably not going to win any of them, so it's pretty embarrassing from a fan's perspective.
I still believe that we won't have any healthy bodies left if everyone keeps coming at us in this fashion. I would really appreciate Bieksa just grabbing a guy like Jokinen and pounding his eyes shut... probably not the smartest thing to do, but it would satisfy my blood-lust.
