@News1130Sports
Canucks practise at the Civic Centre today in OTT in honour of inaugural Senators coach Rick Bowness.
@sportsnetmurph
#canucks showing Rick Bowness's 1st win as head coach of #Senators on big screen at Civic Centre. Draws big laughs from coaches and players.
No leaves or Habs for the early game tonight so buy extra food while you're out, apocalypse is coming.

I suppose with Booth out of the lineup we are stuck with Hansen on the 2nd line, not that I mind that, I just don't like that it means that Vigneault has moved Malhotra up to the 3rd line. I would sooner have seen Lapierre bumped up.

So apparently Carkner is replacing Gonchar tonight. Carkner back after missing 10 months and Gonchar day to day with some sort of injury. With the bad blood brewing between these two teams, the Senators seem mighty pissed about the 'door' incident involving Winchester and Burrows and Lapierre. It will be interesting to see if Weise will finally man up and remind us all why he was picked up in the first place. He has his options, Carkner, Neil and Konopka.

Don't ask Weise who he's fighting, he wouldn't know

With Konopka out, it seems as if you want Weise's season ended tonight.

As long as the score doesn't get out of hand, our power play threat may be enough to hold the enforcers in check.

No shot block or clean box out by Ottawa.
Thank you very much.

Beauty of a pass by Hansen..
Quick 2-0 lead on the Sens. Not even 10 minutes into the game.

Well Chris Neil is running around like a goof. The Canucks have no response for a guy like him. Carkner I'm not worried about, as a D-man he's a liability out there.
The problem with guys like Neil, unlike say a Ryan Clowe, is that his main role is to punish you and not to score goals. Hitting isn't a by-product of his game, it's numero uno. With nobody to keep him in check it could be a painful night for some Canucks...
Looking at his face, I don't know how much he'd want to play punch-face with a capable pugilist. But knowing the Canucks don't have one, it's an easy night for him.

Ok... our prized rookie gets fucking steam rolled.
How does the team respond?
