CANUCKS (10-9-1) at AVALANCHE (9-11-1)
TV: SNET-Pacific (HD), ALTITUDE (HD)
Last 10: Vancouver 6-4-1; Colorado 2-7-1
Season Series: This is the first of six meetings between the Northwest Division rivals. Vancouver has dominated the series since 2009, getting at least a point in the past 11 meetings (9-0-2).
Big story: The Canucks begin a three-game road swing at the Pepsi Center, where Colorado is just 3-7-0 with only 18 goals scored. Vancouver - typically an offensive juggernaut - has endured some recent offensive woes of its own, scoring just three goals in the past two games.
Team Scope:
Canucks: Starter Roberto Luongo is out with an undisclosed upper-body injury HEAD INJURY, but Cory Schneider performed well in Sunday's 2-1 overtime win against Ottawa. With 28 saves - including two on breakaways and another from point-blank range in the extra period -- Schneider won for the first time since Oct. 22.

Coach could be sending players a message, via practice line up.
Maybe next game...

He's speaking in hyperbole to really ratchet up the fire AV rhetoric if the Canucks continue to struggle for a few more games.Mondi wrote:I just heard Tony Gallagher saying that if Vancouver loses to San Jose on the weekend they are "pretty much gone."
I love the bed wetting. The Canucks have exactly two fewer OTLs and two more RLs than they had last year at this time.
Ya, the Canucks have exactly 2 less points after 20 games compared to last season.
If I recall correctly, at this time last year the crypt keeper was talking about AV losing his team and losing his effectiveness as coach.

Malhotra with a good period and gets the goal. Nice finish by Malhotra and terrific pass by the bust...err I mean Hodgson.
And Bieska still has no idea how to play a 1-on-1

I assume Bieksa has a no-trade clause, can anyone confirm that I am wrong?

Burrows looks more confident, or focused.
Patient on his goal.

OB even cleaned the ice for him.

I heard the bit. To clarify, Gallagher was talking about Vancouver being done for the race for first in the West. "And they're gone" referred to how uncatchable SJ would be if we lost to them this weekend.coco_canuck wrote:He's speaking in hyperbole to really ratchet up the fire AV rhetoric if the Canucks continue to struggle for a few more games.Mondi wrote:I just heard Tony Gallagher saying that if Vancouver loses to San Jose on the weekend they are "pretty much gone."

Still a dumb thing to say.
I just want you guys to hate Tony for the right reasons.
Still a dumb thing to say this early
2011..... the one that got away.

Considering how SOB ran him after an earlier play, Burrows can chirp all night.Listercat wrote:OB even cleaned the ice for him.

Who cares about first in the west? Hasn't Gallagher noticed how the President's Cup season ended?

You mean a trip to the final is a bad thing?Old Stick wrote:Who cares about first in the west? Hasn't Gallagher noticed how the President's Cup season ended?
