Hahaha - Rome for the win!

Geez, Salo makes so many excellent, small plays... Fourth line runs into trouble in their own zone? Well there's Salo deflecting the puck away from danger with his skate... They immediately get hemmed in again? There's Salo flipping it cleverly out along the boards.

He made a nice move. Got pulled down. Oh well. He likely wants a goal really really bad.

When Raymond comes back, we're going to be one of the fastest team in the NHL.

Aaron Rome with 3 points and Cody Hodson with a 2 point effort.

Not bad for guys who were supposed possibly be in the AHL this season.

Robo-Rome continues his scoring ways

Cody pulled the trigger on the PP and scored and played a great game on both ends of the ice.

No penalties taken, a first.

Although not tested as much as Nabokov, Luongo looked good in the crease tonight. I hope it's a sign of more things to come. Hard to blame the guy for the 4 let in Anaheim. Good to see him have a bounce back game. A couple of good saves indeed.

Could have been a bigger lead if Hank got a couple of those chances in the net. *sighs*

I know it's the 'lowly' Islanders, but it was a good effort all around.

Yeah, should probably send Hodgson down soon, enough of this AHL bullshit.

That game would have gotten out of hand if not for some missed opportunities by our forwards. I was ready to kill the Sedins for all their odd-man rush passes that were getting picked off easily by defenders that knew brother A was going to pass to brother B. The Isle's were actually pretty good at taking away passes in the slot tonight, and as much as people have said that Booth doesn't like to pass, I was actually impressed when he carried and then tried to cut to the slot around the stretched out dman on that late 2-on-1 he had with Hodgson. New York had been taking that away all night, good on him to try and make a different play and hope for a chance.

Our lines look really good right now.....apart from the 4th unit. They are terrible. When Raymond comes back I say dump him in there and waive Weiss. Weiss is useless. Never knows where the puck is, can't make a pass.....Malhotra can go too. Seriously, package him up and get what we can for him. Really liked the line of Booth-Lap-Hodgson, very good game from them. Tonight it was like watching a 1st line and 2 solid 2nd lines.....with an AHL muck squad on the 4th.

Rome. WTF. Lol.

Salo is smart. Whoever said that is bang on.

Luongo was great tonight, tracked the puck really well, made some huge key saves in the third, out played his counterpart. Nabby was lost out there at times in the Islander's net, and was bailed out by sprawling defenders numerous times, I feel for the guy though, picked up by Detroit as a free agent but claimed on re-entry waivers by the Islander's. That has just got to suck. Garth Snow is an asshole for that, a former goaltender who wallowed on shitty teams for his career, now a GM, he denies a ringless fellow goaltender the chance to play for a contender on the backside of his career because he thinks that Nabokov can help the Islander's.....how exactly? Moron. Goodon Nabokov for reporting this year, he must hate being on the Island.

Aaron Rome at the doctor's with a broken finger:
"So, doc, after you set my finger right, will I be able to score goals when playing hockey?"
Doctor: "Absolutely!"
Rome: "Excellent! I never could before."
