“I want to be the best defenceman in the world,” .... “I don’t want to feel added pressure that because I make that kind of money, I have to do something special to show people I deserve it,” Doughty said. “I feel like I did deserve it.”
Here's hoping Bieska knocks someone (Richards) out tomorrow night.

Say what you want about Doughty's attitude, bottom line is, the boy can play. Remember his play in the Olympics? Wow.
Let's hope the Canucks build on that win in Chicago and get a couple in California.
Tonight, I predict 4-2 Canucks.
So far on TEAM 1040, I am hearing Salo is a go. I believe Saulzer sits.

Be interesting to see how the Canucks respond after some time off and to regroup and bond. We and LA should match up pretty good and I'm expecting a close game - something 4-3 for us.
GO CANUCKS GO!
Still missing Rypien...

Anyone else think that maybe Burrows re-injured his shoulder? I saw the replay of him going into the boards and he got up with his shoulder lowered and not looking good. He never came back after that one which seems more like he injured something and not like back spasms out of no where. I haven't heard one way or the other though so I am just speculating.
As to the game, I hope its as good as the Chicago game and it should be. Both teams with a lot of speed and hard on the forecheck. LA has a good young team and always gives us a good run. To me we need to turn the corner on our mediocre play and this is a great time to show we have.
I think Luongo has another solid game showing he can put together back to back wins. Rome will look faster than before and show more aggressiveness in the offensive zone now that he has that PP goal. Bieksa will be casual Kev again but Hamhuis will make him look good again. Ballard will offer to take a 50% pay cut saying he doesn't feel his ice time warrants as much as he is making. When reminded he can't do that in today's CBA he will get upset and have a bad game prompting his ice time to be reduced even more. RD will have something to say about that after the game.

3-1 Canucks in what I see as a must-win first half of a back-to-backer. I know it's November but we have to start winning in bunches now.
Hope they don't rush Salo back.
LOL @ Dallas and Edmonton leading the conference.
If Crosby doesn't come back soon my pool is officially fucked.
Jack Johnson is a nozzle of the highest order.
It hurts when I pee and I blame Korean prostitutes.

I think the canucks have said Burrows is a back injury. They don't typically outright lie so I see that as the truth (unless they didn't say anything). If it was his shoulder and they didn't want it known they'd stick with the upper body injury thing.
Oh and Rummy....Crosby may be back tonight.

This is, I think, a very good measuring stick for the Canucks. LA is a young team, with all the right pieces to potentially be a contender. They don't have quite the same level of experience as us, and perhaps have slightly less depth on the blueline, but are loaded with some very good players. Like us, they have a goalie who is up and down, and when he's up, Quick is very very good. Considering where the Canuck's are at right now, this team will be a good challenge.
5-on-5 is obviously going to be key for us, but I am sick of hearing people complain and take away from this team's success when they thrive on the PP. That's part of the game, so when they win 6-2 and someone says, "Yeah, but if you take away the PP goals, it's only 2-2....." That's bullshit, the Canuck's have lost plenty of games by wide margins, and even more by a goal or two, and if you took away the opponent's PP goals and just counted even-strength marker's it would have meant a win or at least OT for Vancouver. Credit where credit is due please. Yes, they need to get better 5-on-5, and that will only come when they change their offensive system a bit, but until then if this team needs to live off of their PP, and are willing to put the work in to draw the penalties, then so be it, 2 points is 2 points.

Last time you were off and shorted us a goal, tonight you'll be off and short them one.
May you keep on rollin' Ratman.....

Vancouver's last three wins have been against two teams with awful defence and a third team that had no interest in playing defence. Could be interesting.

I don't think the shakes and shivers are over yet. 4-2 Kings.
