So we finally get a little room with a 4-on-4 shift and AV elects to immediately put out Malhotra, the guy who's been our least threatening offensive player all year.

Tant,

You seem to be full of angst, I think you should start a Bieksa rant thread, you will feel better (smile).

I am. I got my first roughing penalties last night!

IMO this is starting to look like a classic slump.

Lots of opportunities that get squandered due to too many passes or gripping the stick too tight. Canucks are missing nets or firing pucks into defender's shin pads. Nobody seems to be in a rhythm or playing as a five man unit.

Edler should just start aiming it at the glass.

Maybe if our defensemen start aiming at the defender's shin pads some shots will start making it through?

Wow - 3rd time being shut out. Inconsistent, undisciplined, unfocused and not motivated for the most part (I missed the first period).

Still looks like pre-season to me....let's hope the hole stays shallow.

He did look lazy and uninspired tonight. Hardly noticed him.

This team needs more angst.

Panic button time yet anyone? :look:

Ok. No. It's not, and I know it.

When does this start to become a coaching issue? We have now scored goals 32 in the last 17 games with our regular roster. Not too many teams are winning many games while sporting a 1.88 goals/game average. I'm starting to think that the book is out on this team's offense and that opponents are coming in fairly comfortable in the realization that, so long as we stick to our plan of playing token positional defense, we will have no trouble frustrating them, all we have to do is solve their goaltender.....providing it's not Luongo.

Booth has great speed, great hustle, finishes his checks, and must be entirely frustrated that every time he rushes up the wing, he has absolutely nobody to pass to in a scoring position. Again tonight there were at least 3 missed opportunities off of a shot where there was nobody coming down the far wing and we missed out on a wide open net with Elliot down on the far side. Instead the closest player was someone who was in the high slot where there was no option for an incoming pass. The third forward? Yeah he was headed to the corner to setup our "dreaded" cycle game. Yawn. Fart. The Canucks offense is quickly becoming the most boring thing to watch on TV.

Our playbook is old hat and we need something other than this tired structure.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

Man, November can't get here fast enough. This is typical, and I have to say predictable. They just look lost and are simply being outworked, outjumped, out-everythinged. They'll turn it around. I won't even get close to worrying until January, if they're still flubbing around. The energy and focus is random, sporadic, all over the place, nothing coherent once they get past the center line; seems all very improvised, taking the easy play, the predictable play. They'll figure it out, but boy is it annoying to watch, very annoying.

At least a 3-0 loss with CS in net may get rid of the goof with the 99% wants Schneider sign...it's maybe funny the first time, but obvious the 2nd time, annoying by the 3rd time, and just pathetic and stupid by the 4th, 5th and however many times he stood up with that dumb sign. We get it, you got a gimmick and you're squeezing the last drop out of it; now move the freak on.

This is one of the first games I saw on the Sportsnet feed, and that trumpet sound they use on the entry and exits is pretty ridiculous...what, do they think this is the freaking Olympics!?

Clearly, the game put me in a pissy mood.
