To me, this was the closest that the Canucks looked like their regular season performance since the first two games of the Chicago series.
I agree, and that's a great sign. .500 hockey over the next 6 and we're going to the finals!

I'm liking the idea of the 2 day break between games. Like someone stated previously, the extra day will help Hank. I sure he's a little stiff this morning. The extra day will help him keep loose. I also think this could give us a psychological advantage. You always hear players say you don't want to dwell on the loss and move on to the next game, well they have 2 days to think about this. Hopefully the Sharks over think this.

Google ? Alta vista was all the rage although that probably didn't happen until much later. Yahoo was a page hosted at stanford and had a listing of pretty much all the web pages (i.e., about 6 of them), including the famous coffee pot page.

When mosaic came out the general consensus was "well that's nice, but what is it good for". The answer was obviously "porn" and the rest is history.

By the way, I agree Luongo generally hasn't been that bad with the puck and the newspapers are generally harder on him than they should be. He played well and made a huge stop on Thornton. One mistake ended up in the back of the net but in the end he let in two goals. And the second one was tipped in front. They made a big deal about him being too deep in his net, but that is how he has played this year. Being further out just means he gets ran over and interfered with more.

Plus people are still whining about all the goals in the Nashville series that were shot from BEHIND the net or bad angles. Maybe one of those were his fault. He has played very well in the playoffs for the most part other than the two games that the whole team decided to take off against chicago. He played very well against Nashville.

300 baud Acoustic modems. CPM . Lynx browser.. ascii art.. Bulletin boards.. freenet. Then wow. Microsoft DOS, Mosaic, Compuserve, AOL, Infoseek,Alta Vista, Open directory, and for most of those years .. the Canucks sucked, fans bitched and by 94 had something to cheer about. :)

So am ancient but this be far the best team the Canucks have ever had.. ( and gotta admit I still bitch ) :) best chance for a Stanley and yep we are going to beat the Sharks ( in full color instead of the old green screen :) )..

Really good effort from the second half of period 2 on. Not even a terrible first, just a bit flat.

Great to see the Sedins get lots of ice time and use it well. Like everyone, I thought the 3rd line was really good, but I also thought Raymond had a good game as did Erhoff - he seemed more confident and relaxed which translates into more effective. I keep seeing Hodgson have some nice flashes - particularly offensive. I hope he scores in this series, although it's tough to do with the minutes the 4th line is getting.

Nice to see our faceoff percentages way up there, too.

we looked so solid. especially in the third. the one and onl downer was No-show Joes goal, other than that, we looked in true mid season form. nothing but smiles in the nucklehead household

What I did like about that goal though was that we didn't lose our composure... or the game.

Good game. It was nice to see more action and a better flow from this series in just one game than the whole Nashville series.

Good win:

1) Thornton played well, and except for the gaff from Luongo, the Canucks contained him.
2) Heatly clearly frustrated with lack of room he is given.
3) Edler hitting very well like he did during the Chicago series. The rest did him some good.

Don Cherry was in our section at the beginning of the game with the house band (The Odds) wearing a Canucks scarf!

Best part of the night, Aaron Rome held the door for us at Gate 16 as we were leaving and a few players were in and around the area looking relaxed and confident. Loving the vibe they were giving off.

I expect the Sharks to gear it up, if not this will be a short series... Honestly i'm a little bit disappointed by their effort but i'm not complaining.
