R1G2 - Canucks host Hawks - 7pm - CBC, VS

Post by Cornuck »

One game at a time. The first one was good to get under our belts, but we won game 1 in other Hawks series as well.

The Sedins will continue to be the focus of the Hawks game plan. Fine, we'll burn them in other ways.
We need to keep hitting them - especially if their stars are going to play 20+ minutes.
Our depth on D will continue to serve us well.
Luongo just needs to keep playing like he's playing.

If we're winning, I really don't care what the Sedins do. When they're checked closely, they are less effective. Unless a team has very strong depth on D, which the Hawks don't, we have enough talent to score enough to win.

GO CANUCKS GO!

Hopefully our twin stars will find a way to beat the checking this game.. and not take dumb penalties.. Time for them to step up to the plate.. Predicting 2 goals from the Sedin line this game and another Canuck win ! 3-2 ..

We were very fortunate to win game 1 imo, it could have gone either way, however you have to be good to be lucky. Today is another day and there's a lot to build on. Hopefully the boys can sustain that energy one period at a time. The way Lu is playing there is a confidence snowballing.

From Practice: No Hamhuis, Ehrhoff, Torres, D.Sedin, H.Sedin or Samuelsson at the morning skate. Cody Hodgson took part.

From Coach V: Raffi Torres didn't skate today because of "food poisoning." He'll be back "when it's all out."

This version of Canucks I'm starting to love. The mental block seems gone. They had the talent before but something in their heads kept them from winning... not this year so far. Damn when chicago did get their goal who turned it up? CANUCKS!! That would not have happened years past...

I am one FUCKING happy camper at the moment... :D

We looked solid again tonight, but so did the Hawks.

Is this the best they got?

2-0 - 2 to go! Let's win it in Chicago

It was close in the end, but we've had to bury them way before. I counted the huge chances on a papersheet and before the wild final it was in favor of the Canucks 8:4 or something.

Don't mind if, they keep on it's a sweep. Go Canucks Go.

Hansen is the one and only real unsung hero ! My first star in any aspect of the game. No mistakes and really strong. Not to dismiss others, everybody was sensationel nevertheless some had some cramps.

Agree Cookie.. Canucks outchanced chitown and outplayed them .. Score was not indicative of the teams play.. Lou let in a soft one and they got one on a lucky bounce.. A better game by chitown than #1.. but not good enough to win.
Hopefully our twin stars will find a way to beat the checking this game.. and not take dumb penalties.. Time for them to step up to the plate.. Predicting 2 goals from the Sedin line this game and another Canuck win ! 3-2 ..
So ? I got the score wrong :)...

Kudo's to Edler and Hansen..
