GDT: Canucks @ Avs - 6pm - Snet

Post by Cornuck »

Last of the 5 game road trip - time end on a good note and finish 3-2.

We should be rested and ready to get back on track. Colorado's sitting mid-pack, where 5 points separates 5th and 11th.

I think many fans will be watching to see how Shirokov does in his call up and we'll be keeping an eye on Tanev in his first game.

Next 5 games:
Tue Jan 18, 2011 @ COLORADO 9:00 PM ET
Thu Jan 20, 2011 SAN JOSE 7:00 PM PT
Sat Jan 22, 2011 CALGARY 7:00 PM PT
Mon Jan 24, 2011 DALLAS 7:00 PM PT
Wed Jan 26, 2011 NASHVILLE 7:00 PM PT

Luongo seemed to be fighting it tonight, but the Spider is right, one we probably should have had.

Agreed. That was a tough one to lose considering the Canucks had 3 leads and looked primed to win it in OT until Henrik got called. The PK wasn't very good tonight (aside from a fantastic kill in the 3rd).

Surprisingly both new guys made a contribution to the game. I would have expected 1 of them at most to have a good game. I thought Shirokov looked quite impressive and showed some poise on his goal.

I got a smile when Tanev made that play. Poor guy's first game and he finds himself the lone defender on a 3 on 1 with less than 3 minutes to play in a tie game! Gutsy effort to break up the pass while he was losing his balance. Should help with his confidence. Would have been better if they had stuck out to win it though!

Yep.. good news is Shirikov was probably our #1 winger and Tanev did a decent job on D.. bad news is PK sucked, Luongo let in a couple softies and Sedin line didnt have a good game . For the last couple games Kesler looks like he is playing injured..
