GDT: Flame-outs @ Canucks - 7pm - Snet

Post by Cornuck »

Ok ok - we all know the Flames are team Chaos these days but... they lost the Islanders last, but won 4 in row before that. More importantly, if there was ever a team for the Canucks to take lightly - it's these guys.

I think tonight is important just to see if the team actually gets up for this one.

Will endure the wet and wind to get to the arena tonight for this one. We'll have to catch the end of the WJHC in our suite, but this should be a no-brainer tonight.

Mikka's GAA vs the Canucks is 7.77 in his last 3 games

I still expect the Flames will come out trying but I haven't seen a more complete Canucks team iced in years. The visitors will be in tough tonight.

This is a great test for the Canucks. We have always played great against the top teams, but it is the cellar dwellers that have usually whooped us. Let's see if AV can get them up for this game. Having a new GM in Calgary might fire up the Canucks.

Just hoping the Canucks bring their "A" game tonight and haven't been reading the press clippings.. Calgary is not a doormat . 6-4 in their last 10 games.. and DESPERATE... with a lot of Hate for the Canucks.. Kipper is a top goalie and Iginla is always a big threat.

That said : I expect a physical game tonight and expect the Kesler line to do the damage ..

So it was an interesting night.

LB-Notes game night:

1) Canucks get up 2-0 after the 1st.
2) Daniel scores the Canucks 10,000th franchise goal
3) Luongo was stellar and the team didn't clear the zone for his S/O.
4) Bieksa is playing like he's on a mission
5) Burrows had 2 points tonight
6) Juice and his "We like beating Calgary at home don't we?" was priceless
7) Luongo didn't come out for his 1st star announcement meaning he was pissed of not getting that S/O

Drank a few glasses of wine tonight... 1st to drown my sorrows about Team Canada shitting the bed on the WJC, 2nd to celebrate the 10,000th franchise goal and 3rd for the win. I LOVE the Best Buy Club Suite!

Despite being outshot 44 to 21, the boys managed to win one over the "Shit Stompers" of Calgary.

Good win! It's a great time to be a Canucks fan.

They didn't .. but Luongo DID.. 3rd period looked like Russia/Canada in world juniors as far as Canucks were concerned .. but Luongo finally stole 1 :)
