GDT: Canucks host Detroit - 7pm - CBC

Sure, it's early, but these two teams should be top 5-6 in the west (if not the league)- so lets get an early look at how we compare. Tonight we can see how our 'other' goalie performs. ;)

Rypien is able to return, Desbiens is out - so that should work out fine. On the other side, look for Modano to wearing something other than green. Also, Bertuzzi comes home with 9 points in 11 games.

If you are one of those worried about Luongo being past it... that second goal is fodder. He just isn't very quick with his reactions and that seems to just be what we're left with... a slower goalie who needs to get big and handle the angles. I remember the guy who got here the first year as being a lot more reactive to bounces.

Malhotra is going to be good for us; you can tell by the way he wasn't afraid when he got the puck on that breakaway and knew exactly what to do.

Not a good night for either goalie, and I'm glad we could take advantage of them in the 3rd.

Malholtra was awesome tonight. Nice to see some secondary scoring happening and coming from a guy who is absolutely my favourite new Canuck.
