I'm looking for a team that commands enough respect not to be treated like a doormat.
Not being a part of this sparring match, I just don't get what that even means. The only way for Daniel to not get treated like a doormat is to stand up for himself, if someone has to come in, then you're asking for penalties. If Daniel isn't going to stand up, which he did anyway, then he has to learn not to let it get to him - which there's no reason to believe it has. He didn't score, but he had a million chances.

The fact is this stuff is so unimportant. Canucks need to shore up the powerplay, get better in their own end (which is where they simply just might not stack up), and find a way to get Luongo to ditch this big equipment.

Didn't the Canucks say (the leaders Sedins. Lou. Kesler) they learned from last year? Not to get too emo...what the fuck?!

That's exactly what the did, they went off their game plan the last two games...what happened to just paying the way they did all year and not panic? They are trying waaaaaay to hard and not having any fun...

Chillax dudes and enjoy the game...Chicago certainly did game 2 and 3 (before they won). Maybe they don't have any baggage like we do...

Take care...in yer underwear...

Aren't stats kept by the home-teams personnel, ie each rink can decide what a hit is and isn't? I don't recall seeing the Canucks dish out 2-1 hits in that game... unless you could Ehrhoff launching himself at ByFUGLYien and taking out Salo in the process.

I think the Canucks need to focus on outshooting the Hawks 40-21, not outhitting them.

I'm not buying that hometown stat at all.

There's that, and the fact that hits really don't mean much if the puck gets played normally in spite of them. The only valuable ones are when you cause a cough up or stall a pass creating a turn over. I guess the rattling boards gets the crowd going, which I do think can fire up a home team, but otherwise, most hits might as well not be given.

It means there's a smart way to do it and there's a dumb way. What Burrows did to Campbell was the latter and has nothing to do with what I was talking about. It was clearly his idea of fighting fire with fire which served no purpose other than to hurt his own team. What O' Brien did to Buffalo when he crashed Luongo in the 3rd was taking matters into his own hands. Why didn't he get a penalty for crosschecking Buffalo then punching him in the head? Because the refs clearly thought it was even up for Luongo getting run. You can't keep rolling out the red carpet and sacrificing your goalie to a bunch of meatheads; he needs to be protected and if you run him you'll pay the price. It clearly worked as Buffalo lost HIS cool and got 2min for punching Hank. I don't know how to make it any clearer.

We actually could have saved each other a post on this one if I had been more exact. Of what value, then, is SOB's tackle, I would argue absolutely dick all.

Not sure what tackle you're referring to, perhaps I missed that one.

The Bruins' Stanley Cup aspirations beg to differ.

My words had nothing to do with "tackle". Sounded like your words were referring to something else I didn't see. O' Brien attacked Buffalo by punching him in the head and crosschecking him to keep him away from Luongo to send a message. I will repeat, he did NOT take a penalty and in fact goaded Buffalo into taking one. Our goal & goaltender have to be protected and O' Brien executed it better than any of our players so far in these playoffs. He played the most imposing opponent as hard as he possibly could and didn't cross the line while drawing a penalty. If you don't see the value in that then I'm just wasting my time.

Okay fair enough. It was useless, tackle, grapple, or snuggle aside.

Dude, he punched him in the head & crosschecked him in the back for running our goalie....how is that either a snuggle or useless?!? He also drew a CHICAGO penalty w/o taking one himself, in terms of use thats almost as good as a goal for O' Brien. What more do you want & who the fuck are you, Al Strachan?

Hey hey now... a measure of civility please... dumbass, moron, gigantic douche... anything but Strachan.

Anyway, to me a good game by SOB is where he handles his end and doesn't take risks that are just as likely (if not more because of his temper) to land him in the penalty box as the opponent.
