The game outcome was not much of a surprise once we tied it up.. did you notice our sticks finally got the luck and the puck and el eh was getting a bit goofy? I sure did but that doesn't mean anything couldn't happen!

This team got better as the series wore on and they got better as the game wore on. They had me losing hair in the first. The second period was okay, but having Doughty score was a punch to the junk, especially after Brown knocked Luongo's stick out. The third was the real Canucks.

Bernier is on a roll. Demitra was barely noticeable. Samuelsson has to pass once in a while. Wellwood has to shoot once in a while. Kes/Burr/MayRay are building momentum and I can see them being an even bigger factor as the playoffs go on.

Good victory dudes. Let the D get some rest (Alberts played alright those last two games), and bring on the Hawks!

As talked about in the game 4 thread.. The third period in game 4 was the turning point.. Once the Canucks figured out how to kill the Kings PP's it was over.. The Kings just don't have the talent to play with the Nucks 5-5

The Kings came out and battled hard for the first 30 minutes or so but could not get enough pucks past Lou ( good to see Lou back).. Then the boys took over..

Great win, Great series and watch out for the Kings Next year..

Now.. Bring on the Hawks... They are the team the Canucks really want..

We had no business winning that game, Lu won us the game plain & simple. He was solid to spectacular in the 1st period when we were out chanced 9-1 and outshot, what 16-5? THEN that SICK save off Smyth when it was 1-0. That was the turning point that woke the boys up. Nice to see a lucky bounce go our way (off Handzus' sliding stick) and find a wide open Daniel for the winner. That was one hell of a close series. Luongo made THREE series saving saves:

1) Game 1 in OT when he pulled the puck off the line
2) That save against Frolov on the breakaway which saved game 4
3) The save against Smyth, I don't care what anyone says - Smyth got good wood on that and it was only 15 feet or so away...the puck was wobbling a bit but it was hard enough that it should have been a sure goal. Insane.

Any lesser goalie and we could have lost that series in 4 or 5. Not taking anything away from the skaters in the final frame but that game was Lu's and his teammates mailed in the first 30 or so minutes.

Hopefully the skaters can build on this and be ready for round 2, we all know Lu is!
