Canucks host the Yotes 7pm - SNet

Post by Cornuck »

Time to make up for the Shootout loss. These teams are pretty evenly matched, with a slight edge to our power play.

A win tonight puts us in the Division lead - so let's make it happen. It's better to be in a race from the lead, than trying to catch up.

Stat of the day: Burrows had just one goal in the 18 games Daniel missed, but since then, he's prospered while riding shotgun with the twins -- he has 10 goals and 18 points in 22 games, including a hat trick in the win over Columbus.

So far not much howle in the yotes game. If the Canucks keep up this pace so far they'll have a whale of a game! 8-)

I just watched the replay and he was not taking strides, so it didn't warrant a charging call.

Wow ... are they lookin' good or what?
Play like crap in the 2nd and Louie comes up big and holds the door shut.
Can't say enough about the top line ... just clicking.
Defence looks pretty good even when they are depleted by injury. Maybe Lukowich will get a chance now.
Good to get all these points before the huge roadtrip.
I just hope that they aren't peaking too soon.

Make sure nobody tells Burrows that his last name isn't Ovechkin. OK, he isn't scoring Ovechkin type goals but the numbers are certainly there in the last few games. That goal he scored (I think it was his second) was a thing of beauty. Daniel steals the puck from Jovo, passes it to Henrik who one times it to Burrows who burys it. Beautiful.

Wow.

Was scary in the second for a long while, but Lou kept them in it. Nice to see Kesler set up Samuelsson for a nice goal, and the second line had more quality chances tonight (and Raymond had a more noticeable game).

I am not going to "analyze" the game tonight. I am going to sit back and enjoy this. First 4 game win streak of the year with a SO by Lu (50th) Back to back Hatters by Burrows (Not since Skriko in 86) and Hank is on top of the NHL points race by 3 pts.

AH....beer anyone?

Great third after a shitty second, Lou's 50th career shutout, wow!

Looked like Rome has a concussion but hopefully just stars in his head.

Never thought I would see the Canucks with the best line in the league?

That's a pretty devastating hit by Pyatt, and a serious suicide pass from Luongo. If the NHL was serious about concussions they'd be taking a look at this one. Blindside hit on the back of the shoulder. Technically clean, but imo certainly more dirty than the Richards-Booth hit that was so discussed earlier in the season. Looks like Lukowich will draw in, even though AV describes Rome as "fine".

Anyone else's anus seriously pucker up when Willie caught Salo with the stick? I know mine did. That was CLOSE.

Another great win. Teams should really be taking notice of what the Canucks are doing. 8-1-1 in their past 10 games, only the Sharks (9-1) are hotter.

I recall something vaguely similar to that occurring.

Last back to back hat-trick on the Canucks anyone?

You didn't think the WCE fit the bill for at least one of those seasons?
