GDT: Canucks host the BJs - 7pm Snet

Post by Cornuck »

OK - I'll admit this team is on a roll now. I hope that the recent injuries don't disrupt the flow too much. The Blues are sucking right now, and this is a good game see what the team will do with Bieksa in the lineup.

Stats of the day: Kesler ranks 14th in the NHL in winning 55.3 percent of his faceoffs and he's second with 50 takeaways.

Could be a potential let-down after a strong road-trip, but this team HAS to prove it can play to it's own abilities, not the opponents.

5-1 Canucks.

A game they should win, but not a game that means a huge amount in the long run. They look good these days, and I think Luongo is ALMOST there. Yeah, he's been good, but I'm not satisfied until he's one of the two or three best in the league and he hasn't been that yet.

Maybe not in the long run, but in the short run, they are very close the Division lead. I'd like to see them get the Division and then have some incentive to keep it.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with that particular thrill...

Usually it just ends with our captain saying "we choked" into the mic.

Think the canucks could very well be the nail in the coffin for another nhl coach. After being up 2-0 and then giving up seven goals to lose 7-3 wow... I didn't think it was possible but thinking now it may entirely be the lowest point of the season for Columbus and don't think they want it to get much worse. Hitch might very well be on his way out now.

Nice win boys, too bad Canada couldn't pull it out as well.

Sedins looked great, but Columbus looked HORRIBLE after the quick start.

Hitch is done. But I don't agree with Garrett or whoever was whining about Nash getting less ice time than Pahlsson in the first period. Pahlsson is a very good player. As is Nash, but whining about Pahlsson getting more ice time than Nash (which he didn't in the end) is sort of like whining about Kesler getting more ice time than the Sedins. Columbus was ahead for most of the first, so Pahlsson's line is going to get their minutes. Perhaps Nash should have had more time, but not at the expense of Pahlsson's time (especially in the first).

And congrats to Burrows on the hat trick ! Especially nice to get that last one short handed rather than the cheap empty netter.

Samuelsson is also on pace for a career year. I'm not sure I like him on the second line as he still hasn't really gelled with Raymond or Kesler but we'll see what happens.

And speaking of Raymond, he was invisible tonight. I had to check after the game to make sure he was actually on the ice. I think we need to try Grabner on that line with Kesler and Raymond, and see where that goes. It might flop eventually, but it was dynamite when it was together before Grabner was hurt.
