GDT: Canucks host Kings - 7pm - Snet
An important game tonight for the Kings - a win will put them 1st overall in the league. I can't believe I just typed that. This would be a huge step for LA and I'm sure the Kings will be wanting this game.
As far as building a team goes, we've talked about this: they've sucked for a decade and are finally seeing the fruits of their labour. I guess that's one way of clearing out the bandwagon. I would say that they're long overdue and suffered some setbacks over the years (Crawford and lack of goaltending come to mind). In the meantime, they've built up a solid team of kids and the addition of Smyth has helped them alot. Quick is turning into the first reliable starter LA has seen since Vachon.
Still, this is a team that Vancouver has already beaten twice this year. Let's ruin the party and make it a 3rd.

LA is a great team to watch, and while they bungled the rebuild, they seem to have found the right mix and have a really frighteningly good group of players - and more to come.
As for tonight, we've beat them twice... might have our comeuppance on the way. Hopefully, Luongo steals us one and we see a little bit more out of our secondary lines.

I am not too worried about LA tonight. Right now, with how the Canucks are playing, it is not the other team that will beat them, it is if they beat themselves. Our 1st line is as good as anybody's in the league, and our other 3 lines match up well. And, as always Lou is a huge factor.
Anyone know if Salo is in tonight? He injured his leg last game. I am guessing a charlie horse. But, with Salo, it could be a season ending charlie horse.
Also, any news on how Grabner is doing coming back from injury? He'd look good replacing Hordichuk most nights, esp with Wellwood benched.

Another hot start! Really liking this added feature of our Canucks...
Now if we could just work on those nasty second periods.

A common statement, although one that is usually just madly partisan fans being unable to rationalize that when their team is in fact not winning, it may be because the other team is playing better and not that their team is a bunch of lazy Euro quitters.Right now, with how the Canucks are playing, it is not the other team that will beat them, it is if they beat themselves.
Just saying...

Although, Tciso nailed the prediction, by the looks of things, so why am I giving him a hard time.
Just wish you hadn't used that of all sport cliches I guess.

Me thinks Kyle Wellwood could be on his way back to the press box... although why you have them out there with 17 seconds left is a bit beyond me.
Not a bad period from the Canucks, and the Sedin's certainly don't appear to be slowing down. But they're going to have to remain sharp and avoid any more 5-on-3's if they're going to pull through in this one.
