GDT: Canucks host Coyotes - 7PM - SNet

Post by Cornuck »

LUONGO'S BACK!

I think that's all that needs to be said as the team is under-performing and giving away points.

Line combos for tonight:

Daniel Sedin-Henrik Sedin-Taylor Pyatt

Pavol Demitra-Mats Sundin-Jannik Hansen

Alex Burrows-Ryan Kesler-Steve Bernier

Darcy Hordichuk-Ryan Johnson-Mason Raymond

Looks like Vinny's finally worked out that Raymond doesn't work with Sundin and bumped him down to the fourth line, however he's decided to scratch Wellwood in place of him. Oh well, hopefully we'll win tonight. I get the feeling Louie will be rusty for a week or two.

Don't underestimate the Coyotes. They're just as good as us this year, and despite their much heralded financial problems off the ice they've been pretty darn good on the ice.

I say we get it done though. 4-2 Canucks, Daniel, Ohlund, Pyatt and Henrik. Sedins with 3 point nights each. Mueller and Carcillo for the 'Yotes.

Pathetic first period. What's wrong with this team ? Seems like since Sundin signed things have gone downhill ?

It's times like this that I'm glad that I can't watch these games.

Edit: 4-0??? What a joke.

This is embarassing. Was listening via net, and I think Botchford may have pinged on something with his reference to the canucks losing their physical edge in trying not to get penalized. Then again, these guys are like they're afraid to do anything out there and are waiting for a saviour. If I was Lou, I would rip into them after the game and say, "There, how's your saviour now? Nothing is going to come in here and help you. Let's start helping ourselves."

I'm writing them off till after the all-star break. Lou should have some timing back and maybe someone can ship the team some WD-40 so they can squeeze their heads out of their asses.

Sundin is a joke out there. He had better spend the all-star break skating with a parachute if he wants a hope of getting any better. Thank God he's only here for one year. As if getting Messier never taught the organization anything about going after big-name old guys....

At the begining of the season, every prognisicator and predictor out there picked the Canucks to be a lousy team, to finish well back in the standings, sure, the Canucks gave us a month or so of playing way above thier heads but now they seem to be making all them predictions correct.

After two periods

Positives : Hansen looks pretty good with Sundin and Demitra
Davison fights and wins against Carcillo after the first Coyote goal.
Luongo makes 3 or 4 great saves.

Negatives: Almost everything else.

I would at least expect Hordichuk or O'Brien to stir it up a bit.

Very embarassing performance so far in their home rink.

man all these line combination..Even on Defence... AV needs to lay off and leave the lines alone for 5 or 6 games... The players look very confused..

When i played, i played my best when i played with the same guys..

I don't wanna sound alarm bells but it maybe time to Let AV go and bring back Quinn

This is some of the worst hockey I have seen the Canucks play in a long time. Imagine how V feels, it seems like nothing he does is waking them up. I'm not sure what will.

Let's do a 40-minute recap here.

Lindstrom (age 25) 2 goals.
Mueller (age 20) 1 goal.
Yandle (age 22) 1 goal, 1 assist.
Hanzal (age 21) 1 assist.
Turris (age 19) 1 assist.

Also in lineup for Phoenix:
Boedker (age 19)
Lisin (age 22)
Carcillo (age 23)

Vancouver Canucks:
Trying desperately to find linemates for Sundin (age 37).
Now officially hoping to get any production from Demitra (age 34 and making $4 million this year).

Is anybody getting my drift at all here?

Ya Gillis may just need to wake up tomorrow and let AV go.. Gotta shake this team up

I have no problem with Sundin or Loungo... It takes time to get back.. We all knew it would take Sundin atleast 2 to 3 weeks may take Lou the same
