GDT - 10/16 - Canucks @ Detroit 4:30 - TSN

Ok, everyone knows that the team stank up Washington, and for a city full of filth and scum, that's hard to do. Now that they have had some rest, some time to reflect and some time to bond on the road, they face a big challenge in the form of the Detroit Red Wings. Historically, the Canucks seem to get up for these 'big' games and provide a good effort.

Tonight we will see how this year's version reacts to adversity. We'll see if Capt Lou send a message to himself and the team - and how that message was received. The Red Wings had to spend yesterday cleansing Bush's stench off themselves after meeting with the puppet to celebrate their Cup win. So they had a travel day yesterday. Zetterberg is out tonight.

This is the first of 3 games in 4 days for the Orcas. I hope they will take advantage of some rest and put the Wings away early and not have to fight a full 65 minutes. Tomorrow they face the Sabres.

GO CANUCKS GO!

This early in the season, the 'Nucks always get up for the Wings. I hear the Zetterburg may not be ready to play, and that there may some others with that aren't completely 100%. Good.

2-1 Wings (OT).

5-2 wings

I think the team and media and fans still think we are goal scoring machines.

Historically, we have played well against the Wings. Historically, we played well against Washington too, and look where that got us. Historically, it is easier to get "up" for last years cup winner.

With all that history in mind, I say 'nucks win 3-2. Canucks goals by Raymond, Hansen and that scoring machine Rypien.

Did I call Hansen ? I think I did. Self congrats are in order. Oh, but now it looks like Detroit got a goal.

2-1 'nucks. Kesler tips one in from O'Brien.

Looking good so far. Not that I'm wishing an injury on someone but it would be nice if they keep Rafalski out for precautionary reasons.

I'm liking the way O'Brien is playing.

How is our second line looking today? Well, the official one, with Demitra, Pyatt and Raymond. Looking at the score sheets it looks like Kesler-Burrows-Hansen is really our second line.

Something is missing from our "second line". I'd really like to see Gillis replace Pyatt with someone else. I think AV even replaced Pyatt with Rypien at one point.

Kesler-Burrow-Hansen is looking fantastic! I was never a Hansen fan, but he's quickly turning me into a fan.

Piss me off. ANOTHER horrible call.. sorry guys but I'm sounding like a broken record. The call on Sedin was pure bullshit. How could that be interference? Do you not own the space you occupy anymore? I guess in buttheads world you're supposed to get out of the way so the americans can see more goals.

GREAT game otherwise though...

.
Can't complain about scoring can you?

But, I've been thinking moving Pyatt out would be a nice trade.. I think the window is quickly closing though...

At last the second line provided some scoring! When they score, it's important goals! First Demitra's OT winner and now this. Hope they can hold on and gain at least a point in this one.
