What ??

Just curious what your comment would have been had a Nuck player gone after Roy and negated their 5 minute power play.

Probably something to the effect of:
"Highlight:
(insert Canuck here) showed some heart and stood up for his teammate in fighting Roy after a vicious check on Weaver sent him head-first into the end boards."

I think the comment means that the 5 minute penalty had absolutely no effect on the game. The didn't respond - either at the time, or in the next 5 minutes.

Hmmm....down by a goal with a 5 minute PP...a chance to make the Oil pay and quite possibly put the game out of reach...

If this was the first game of a series, certainly that shot warrants some payback. A goal was needed to get the Nux back into the game.

The fact that they weren't able to is moot.

No heart ? No effort ? Not IMO. The margin of winning & losing (especially for this edition of the Nux) is small, at best. For those writing off the Oil as an easy win, just look at their last 9 games.

Right, "put the game out of reach", as if our guys were going to score 2, 3 or 4 goals in five minutes. Don't forget the Oil are no slouch at comebacks, they actually have some firepower even with Hemsky and Horcoff out of the picture, and unlike some teams they don't give up when behind by a few.

It wasn't like it was the end of the third period, it was mid-second period. I don't care if it's an important game, you have to defend your teammates especially on something as egregious as Roy's hit. It may have put some more life into the team, or it may not have. The fact that they weren't able to score on the ensuing powerplay may be moot, but the lack of coming to the defense of one's teammates isn't.

And just to clarify, I don't think I ever intimated that the Oil were an easy win.
