GDT - 2/7/8 Canucks @ Thrashers 4 PM SN and 1040

Post by mattola »

HUGE game. we could come out of the road trip with .500 record in "points" if we win tonight.

with Colorado winning against San jose last night (how do they do that) we are still out of the playoffs with a win due to tie breakers.

with Ohlund back and our D starting to come back together I think we should expect a solid defensive game tonight and tight checking.

Kesler you have a job to do on Hossa. Burrows you are on Kovalchuk (get him off his game, piss him off)

Markus Naslund has four goals and five assists in his last four games against Atlanta.

GO CANUCKS GO!

The Dallas game was promising, Ohlund being back means Salo and Edler can reduce their ice time a bit and hopefully work on making a few more offensive passes out of the zone. Louie looks to be back on form, so I have no worries there.

Kovalchuk has slowed down considerably since he was hurt/suspended, and Hossa hasn't been himself this year, but expect big nights from both of them. Hossa especially because we've been rumoured to be interested in him, so he'll want to show off to DN and co.

As Matty said, Kesler and Burrows are our X factors tonight. If they can shut down the Thrashers scorers then we'll be good.

I have a good feelings about tonight, I say 4-1 Canucks, Naslund, Salo, and a pair from Henrik. Exelby will score for the Thrashers.

Apparently we haven't gone without a win on a 4 game road trip since November 1997.

Please don't make history tonight boys.

I could care less if it's in regulation or OT, I just a WIN!

BTW Matty, I noticed you've been starting a butt load of thread lately. Lot free time on your hands?

3-1 Canucks win.

Kesler, Nazzy, and Burrows with the empty netter. Hossa for the Thrashers just because I have him in my money pool and need the points.

Thank god for Cowan. Did anyone else catch what he did there? He lost that fight on purpose! Now the Thrashers are thinking "Man...don't take a run at any of there skilled players or I'll have to risk breaking my hand on Cowan's face!".

MVP MVP!

At least I can't complain that he's got Linden's spot on the roster tonight!

Was that secondary scoring I saw???? Luongo was his normal inhuman self, but even better was someone not from Sweden scoring!

I only listened to the game, but it seemed like the young D was not the problem again tonight. Pretty promising considering it's half-Moose.

Carry it on against the Avs boys!!!!

That didn't go exactly as planned, but we came out hungry in third and got the two points.

Luongo is back to being unreal, I am so glad he's not a question mark anymore. The team plays about a thousand times better when they know he'll make the save no matter what.

TIME FOR A WINNING STREAK BABY
