Seriously. I do. I hate how he whines and complains and he gets more support because of what he accomplished on ice. That should have never followed him behind the bench.

Plus, I think Lemieux would have been greater had he been healthy. But that is neither here nor there.

Even without Lemieux, Gretzky is not the 'greatest player ever'. Never in hockey history was one player given so much room - with the 'unwritten rule' of 'don't touch'.

Orr, Howe, Lemieux, Richard, and others played a more complete game, Gretzky got full protection and whined whenever someone dared to touch him.

Don't get me started....

Well...

We came up short but it was a very entertaining game none the less.
Sanford didn't play badly but we missed Luongo's sheer size in the net.

Unfortunate that Cowan got four minutes and Burrows got unlucky with the clearing attempt on a bouncing puck.
It happens. :?
A full two minutes 5-on-3 without Burrows is a dream come true for the opposition.
But neither one was a lazy penalty and I can't fault the effort the boys showed tonight. It was a fun game to watch.

The shorthanded Burrows/Kesler goal was a beauty.

Jovo played great.....wrong colour uniform for my taste...but it was good to watch him being Jovo again.

Pyatt is beginning to show his full potential.
WOW !
He won't stay underappreciated very long if he keeps this up.

All in all, a good game.
We got unlucky and they capitalized.

I missed last night's game, but the reports from the shark tank, added to our play the last couple of weeks, had me beginning to worry about a prolonged slump.

I was happy that I didn't see any sign of that tonight despite the loss.

I thought the Canucks were lucky to even be in the the game through two periods. Sanford was arguably their best player for the first two periods (probably because nobody else bothered to show up), they were being outshot by a 2/1 margin. Whistler had a good point about missing Luongo's sheer size, he plays the angles so well and challenges the shooters, I can't see the 3rd goal getting past him (but only saw it live so maybe replays would show differently.

Cowan was stupid and selfish and probably cost them the game. Jovo was the best player on the ice by a mile although I have to give credit to Pyatt who played well. Naslund had two good shots but was otherwise invisible.

The Canucks only bothered showing up for the third and still came close. Too bad they couldn't pull out a win.
