Hockey Widow wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2020 11:45 am I really look forward to seeing what we have in Demko. I certainly don't want him to be the losing goalie but more importantly if he can back stop us to a comeback then it makes goalie decisions moving forward very interesting.
What a breath of fresh air that our young stars are all stepping it up in the postseason - and then Demko comes in with an MVP performance in the team's first elimination game.

No more Naslund-era "we choked" speeches, no Sedins-era "turn the other cheek", just the team's best players putting up their best performances when it matters most.

I think they want it more, Canucks 4-2, continue their streak of no ENGs.

We will need to circle the wagons once again and continue to counter punch these fuckers. Vegas has to start showing some fatigue much like the Blews did after throwing everything into trying to injure the canucks.

I predict the canucks have the extra energy as the game wears on and once again take it over in the 3rd. Thatch needs to build the wall and the D needs to keep clearing the traffic.

It'll be another low scorer i think....2-0 canucks
You know, if the Knights don't show any sign of slowing down, it may make one wonder if 'roids' aren't a part of the diet!? Just saying. One can only be in over-drive so long, usually. I know its a rather nasty thing to infer, but hey, its naive to think it's not possible. If something doesn't seem natural, maybe it isn't. Do they do any testing in that there bubble?

Because their skill is averaged over the top-3 lines they can play the way the play without burning out as quickly.

That being said, their 4th line saw less TOI in game 5 compared to the first 4 games.....if the Canucks can make them chase the score we have a much better chance of wearing them down. When we are chasing the score Reaves and Carrier come over the boards more often, physically wear us down, while the Knights' better players conserve energy and recharge.

Lehner, despite his 2 shutouts, has not been as good as those two games reflect on his stat line. His frustration on Petey's goal last night showed through. I'd say that if the Canucks can get an early marker on him that he will be much more susceptible to some pestering by Roussel, and the bottom-6 has a whole should be crashing the net with aplomb. :P

Interesting not-so-fun fact.

We have zero points from our bottom-6 forwards this series. Nil. Zilch. Nadda.

Last series those guys stepped up HUGE in the games where the season was on the brink. Here's to hoping they can do it again. :drink:

A repeat performance by Demko, and a win, and it will sure make for a tough call on Markstrom. Even if they just get it to game 7.

Don't all the casinos in Vegas pump in oxygen? The whole city is like a hyperbaric chamber.

Just sayin'
