-I do think it's hilarious though, the number of old, fat, outta shape, arm chair coaches (myself included) who are questioning a pro athlete's conditioning level.
I think that too.

Just the opposite . Last game it was obvious that Brock was a nervous wreck and putting him on a line with 2 fast, smart players wasn't doing him or his linemates any favors. Sitting out a game or 2 would take some of the pressure off plus a chance to observe and improve his conditioning.
It worked with Naslund many years ago🐥. No one is suggesting throwing him under the bus.

Krutov probably should have stayed in the Soviet Union.

He got a great deal with Östersund in the Swedish third tier league:
The team paid for his apartment, and he was sponsored by a grocery store where he coukd come in and pick up whatever he needed. He was happy, and at that level he could still deliver. Well, for three years at least...

It was probably the Swedish 7-11 and he was gorging himself on roller-grill hot dogs and pizza slices!

Well, yes. But as laughable as it may seem it's really a tragedy.
One of the greatest hockey players of all time, but unable to handle personal freedom, eating and drinking himself into an early grave. He could have done so much more! :(

Here's a great documentary about him, Larionov, Makarov, Kasatonov and Fetisov:
