What we know:
Leipsic will skate with Horvat and Boeser.
Motte will skate with Archibald and Sutter.
Goldobin will skate with the twins.
That leaves an interesting line of Baertschi/ Gagne/Virtanen.
Eriksson out another 10-14 days. Ya right.
Tanev out at least 2 more weeks.
Good plan to sit Tanev and Eriksson as long as they can. Motte and Goldobin can be sent down without waivers and they have both been papered to Utica in order to be eligible for their playoffs. With Tanev and Eriksson out there is roster room to keep them.
Jokinen told it is unlikely he will get much playing time, if any, with the Canucks. This begs the question why the Canucks just didn't send him to Utica. I believe he had already cleared waivers with Columbus. If not, still waive him.
Don't know who starts. Gotta think Markstrom will be given a chance to keep rolling.
Rangers limp into town with a mash up of a line up.
Will be watching Boeser and the young ones.

Re Jossi and Utica....are we into the call up limitations post trade deadline?

First off, Fuck the Rangers.
Okay - this will be an interesting line: Baertschi-Gagner-Virtanen - 3 players with some talent and something to prove. I hope Green can keep these three together for a while and see if there is any chemistry between 2 or 3 of them.
If Jokinen never wears the Orca, that's fine with me - I think I'd rather see Chaput or Megna in the lineup...
I've got some cautious optimism for Leipsic. He can put up points in lesser leagues, but then so could Vey. Travis must be happy to see him here and looks like he's already a favourite.
Time for Brock to light it up and pot a couple tonight!
GO CANUCKS GO!

Baertschi-Gagner-Virtanen
Hasn't this been the #2 PP unit the last couple of games, or at least the last game with Vanek gone?

Yes, only 4 callups allowed after the trade deadline BUT
... that's not counting "emergency callups".
"Emergency callups" are not usually "emergencies" though.
Having an injured player like Dorsett is a good enough excuse for an "emergency callup".
And you can then send that callup back down and bring up another to "replace" Dorsett.
A couple of years ago both Leaves and had Flames 9 or 10 "emergency callups" after the deadline.
(on top of their official "4 callups allowed)
It's a loophole kind of thing really...

I just have zero interest in watching Jokinen at this point in the season. Unless he can set up Brock for points... don't want to see him. Showcase placeholders for draft day?

For the remaining of this season, the Canucks should have only have one goal
-
GET BOESER INTO ~35 GOAL 60 POINT RANGE"
-
At this stage I think Calder is gone.
But I would still love to see Boeser breaking Bure's record.

BROCKEY_HOCKEY has been a passenger on the majority of his shifts since the All Star Game.
I'm more interested in watch Horvat become more dominant and seeing if Jake's head can catch up to his feet.
