Vanek building up trade deadline points, go Thomas!

Team defense has been brutal since we lost both of our top centers(Sutter,Bo). Henrik, Gagger and Gonch are brutal AF...not to mention the new chapoo guy #17 aka whatshisname

On the back end its a mess. Strange how bad they've been since the 2 injuries. I guess that outlet pass is the key and if the centers aren't falling back were fucked

Hank and Dank need to cycle off into the sunset after this season.

Only a handful of forwards actually did decent back checks in the recent games. The rest have been coasting. When most of the defensemen have warts in their defensive games, the lack of help from the forwards just amplified the problem. People can laugh all they want but Sutter has his values on this team. Since his absence, PK has been brutal. With Chaput being sent back to Utica, Sutter might be ready in the next game or so which should help the faceoffs and PK.

Yep when they were both in the lineup, Sutter and Horvat were taking the bulk of our faceoffs

... and they had by far the best faceoff percentages on the team.

(also those two had by far the most icetime per game among forwards)

Yes, our special teams took a HUGE hit with the injuries.

Our two main penalty-killing forwards were Dorsett and Sutter.

And Horvat was third.

Our top three PK defencemen, Tanev, Edler, and Guds... all lost a lot of games to injury.

Horvat and Baertschi were two of our #1-PP-unit forwards.

No way can a rebuilding team survive losing that many top players...
