GDT: Canucks @ Habs 02/11/16 4:30 PM SN360 SN1

Post by SKYO » Wed Nov 02, 2016 4:01 pm

Habs put their wicked 8-0-1 record on the line vs the slow, tired and invisible Sedins I mean Canucks.
Why, this time last year, the Canadiens came coasted into Vancouver boasting a 9-0-0 record to start the year, looking to become just the third team in NHL history to win their first 10 games. But if any NHL team knows how to deliver a cold and jarring dose of reality in all its horror, it’s the Vancouver Canucks; they shut the operation down with a 5-1 victory.

The Canucks didn’t just ruin the streak, either. They ruined the Canadiens’ whole season. Tore their hearts right out. Kalima. Montreal would never recover, dropping 43 of their next 72 games and finishing 11 points out of the last playoff spot in the East. Naturally, the Canadiens blamed P.K. Subban.

I don't think we'll do the same this year though, but interesting story nonetheless.
A long time ago, a baseball player remarked: "If I owned a ballclub, I'd hire a $5,000 coach and a $15,000 scout."

I like the way you think....

Yet I'm going to go even further by adding another goal for Eriksson and have him score his first hat trick in a Canuck uniform. :mex:

Getting a breakaway at this age means something right?

Right?!

For a Sedin, it means a feeble attempt and no goal.
Try to focus on THIS year...

Ok, hoping for a 2-0 loss tonight. Force the issue that this team can't compete offensively and also keep Miller's value up.....and the likelihood that he will want a trade. :P

Well, then we better keep Pizza on the ice.

What a fuckin' horrible (but typical) Luca Sbisa shift.

Feel bad for the team, but it's a team that is desperate for real change, rather than a bandage here a bandaid there.

Tank for Patrick

I praise when there's something praiseworthy Blobby. We both agree Pizza is a bad NHL defenseman. I've said more negative things than positive. I'm no stalwart defender of Swiss Cheese D.

But even the worse players do some good things and have some redeeming qualities right? And right now that should help redeem a shot at Nolan Patrick.

I mean, I could harp on the same thing ad-nauseum for 2 years straight... but I can't take the Dude's schtick can I?
