Should be a win but it will not be easy by any stretch.
Carolina has been sitting around town, scouted us, and is ready.
This is a game where our "secondary scoring" needs to emerge.
Lots of ice time for the Sedins last night so needs to be less for this one.
Might sound off the wall but this would be a game where I might have Burrows back with the twins at times and try LE in some different situations.
Point is; not to soon to manage the Sedin's ice time.
And again, hard on the puck, clean bumps every chance you get, Carolina will cough it up.
In theory.

I heartily agree. The Canucks will need them more later than they need them now.

Yes, but without them now there may be no latter.

X3 - They need Sedins truly healthy for 75+ games each this year. They can't be playing "with a knock" that's obviously keeping them well under 100%. If that means leaning heavily on Sutter, Horvat, Ericksson etc, then so be it.

I say let the top line play together now. The points are easier this time of year. Let them get established and try to win early as we'll need the points later. Allow the secondary scoring to discover itself without effecting the first line.

Oh and you mericans ... vote Trump or we're all doomed.

There will be another season, and -- if just about everything breaks just about as well as possible (a skeptic might say "If Benning truly is a genius") -- it will be before the Sedins retire, when the Canucks have another realistic shot at the Cup. I want the Sedins as healthy as possible in that season.

WD may want to win now, ownership-management group may want to win now, but I think the most realistic, and important, goal for this season should be maximizing the improvement of the young players, while minimizing the wear and tear on any old ones you plan to keep.

You have a thread for that.

Not to be mean but hopefully tonight Mondi's Canucks wipe that goofy smile off Lack's face for all eternity.

(and then Gudbranson beats the living fuck out of him)

Like Hansen with Sutter/Granlund... they all 3 had a good game last game.. Hopefully Horvat can improve on faceoffs ..

Time for secondary scoring is NOW :)

High short side, same as his mentor, Eddy cheats to the middle of the net.

So far… not boring at all. Good pace set by the Nucks with all lines generating some offence.

Systems play is SO much better, albeit only a couple of games in. That's due to having depth, healthy players and yes, placeholders experienced veterans.

Or maybe the Canes are just that bad.
